Does anyone think that people will look up Deadpool comics more so now that movie exists? I am more curious to read Deadpool over Guardians of the Galaxy.

Also at beginning of movie, what the heck was Ajax's meeting about with the dude he picks up by the neck? It's funny that it seems to be the beginning of some evil bad guy deal.

They have been for a while. The first appearance of Deadpool, New Mutants #98, has went up a significant amount since the movie was announced and trailers released. Selling for right around $1k graded.

[Show spoiler]In Timeline Prime, Wade's father became Weapon XI/"The Dead Pool" a.k.a. Barakapool. In 1981 AC ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine").

Thank God, 2023 Wolverine changed the events of 1973 and created a new timeline: Timeline Sigma. In this new timeline, Wade's father never became part of Team X, instead married a woman and birthed Wade Winston Wilson Jr. (named after him).

Wade Winston Wilson Jr. is the one who will become the proper and legit "Deadpool" in 2016.

So Deadpool is the son of Barakapool

To bad your wrong and Yahoo already had where in the timeline this falls guess what it ignored Origins completely as per Reynolds himself

Glad you liked it, at least the majority of it.

It needed the fourth wall breaking though, that's Deadpool comics in a nutshell.

I never said it shouldn't have it, just that it was overkill. I'm simply judging it as a movie, not how faithful it is.

There would be more of a problem if he DIDN'T break the fourth wall.

There was a couple that brought their five-year-old daughter to Deadpool. I honestly can't understand how they or the ticket taker would think that would be ok. Parents of the year right there for bringing her to a violent, vulgar, and lewd film. That should be considered child abuse.

Second time going today, and this time it was in IMAX. Such a great movie!

I really hope Wolverine is in the sequel with Jackman returning. I know he said he is done after Wolverine 3 but if Fox just puts him in his Blue and Yellow suit with some pads to make him look big it will save him from having to get in tip top shape at the gym. He doesn't have to be shirtless and worry about dieting and training. I know that is one of the main reasons he wants to be done with the character and this could totally work

Default Worth seeing in theater

4.5 out of 5. It was a good movie. Entertaining, action, comedy, solid romantic moments, action, great one-liners, action, didn't falter anytime during, and I found myself laughing a good bit.

Lots of pros to the movie. Okay, mostly pros. Good flow to the movie so that it doesn't bog down. A couple of good romantic moments. Lots of great action, although a bit too much of the quick camera fast cuts. Hate those. Hilarious dialogues. Mostly a great choice of actors. Good editing and direction, overall.

Cons. Villain wasn't really a villain. But, that being said, I can see why he wasn't. It's a kind of origin story for Deadpool, so it fits. But, the movie kind of fails just a bit because of that. Not much, mind you. The parts with Colossus and the kid were good, but the reason why just those two ... well, that could have been handled better. Funny, yeah, but the reasons could have been better. I'm not one for a lot of language in a movie. Just isn't my cup of tea. I understand it's part of the character, but for me, it was just a bit too much so I list it as my con. Don't get me wrong, the cons really are a very small thing compared to the total movie.

I am looking forward to seeing the next one.

Oh, and I agree with other posters, who in their right mind as a parent would bring their kids to this movie???

Mark

Barakapool's only connection to this film is as a punchline.
