Deadpool marks the beginning of a HUGE franchise for Fox...great job on this film . Deadpool whips the Iron Man, Captain America, X-Men, Wolverine, and Thor movies. Will make a ton of money as there's nothing to challenge it for a while.

Well, he played on it for Ted.

For a few years people have been wanting Lang to play Cable but although he could look the part in the face, he's a bit too short. It sucks because Reynold's is about 6'2" and Lang is 5' 10".

Now of course I know comic book characters are drawn to crazy proportions but Cable should be as tall as if not a little taller than Deadpool. Would be kind of weird seeing a relatively short Cable on screen.

Watched this movie two nights ago and loved it. I'm real happy for Reynold's that this turned out to be a success.

Kal-El should be taller than Bruce Wayne, it just looks kinda weird. It's close enough though that I'm betting the cameramen just used perspectives and angles to make them look closer in size. For Lang, there's always apple crates and big boots.

Fox did a great job here ...unlike the crap that Disney has been doing with the Iron Man franchise...adding more and more suits does not make for a better movie kids. Even the Avengers 2, took a serious step backwards...Thor 2 was a bore. Ant Man? Nothing different there. Love the Marvel universe but Disney had been getting VERY lazy with the output aka cookie cutter approach.

Hopefully Civil War is great and I am rooting for the Batman vs Superman movie...Disney needs to "feel some heat".

Brian Singer had nothing to do with X3 (not even a producer's credit). That was directed by Brett Ratner.

I think the story was Fox was taking too long to commit to X3, so Singer went and did Superman Returns and the Fox execs had a hissy fit and kicked him off the project. But it might have been the other way around, who knows...

Deadpool - As someone who is not really a fan of Deadpool HOT DAMN SHIT THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!! It's hilarious and full of a ton of easter eggs that mock everything be it from the Marvel universe to even DC and even Ryan Reynolds himself. It was entertaining as hell even though it was light on plot. This movie is all about style rather than substance, but does it in such a way that you don't care. This is to comic movies what Fury Road is to action. Is it the greatest comic book movie ever made? OH HELL NO! Is it entertaining as hell? DFEINITELY!! I give it an 8/10. Make sure you stay through the credits.

[Show spoiler]Oh, one thing though that has nothing to do with the movie itself, but WHO THE HELL BRINGS 6 YEAR OLDS TO R RATED MOVIES?! THOSE PARENTS ARE RETARDED ASS MOFOS WHO SHOULD HAVE THEIR PARENTING LICENSE REVOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, my favorite bits were when he asked which Xavier it is and then why there are only 2 characters around an entire mansion. Oh, and best Stan Lee cameo ever!!

I saw a woman who had the nerve to bring her baby. Even tried to hide the little one under her shirt and they shared one seat. Doubt she paid for his/her ticket.

No way.
Just leave the X-Men out of the equation and the post is 100% fine.

Saw this last Wednesday, and as great as it was, felt a tad too grounded for a Deadpool flick.
[Show spoiler]Where's the inner debates with his voices? I thought for sure the torture would crack him and his brain would split so we'd get said voices

[Show spoiler]thought i read somewhere that they were going to avoid the voices in his head.

wasn't that something that changed from one writer/author to another??

Well... I'm sure that they wanted to leave some room for character development in a potential sequel. Perhaps his "inner voices" have yet to make their appearance.

I can understand what you are saying, but remember that this was his introduction to many of the general public. As is, he is already pretty "out there" in film form for an audience who mostly has a set expectation for "superhero" films. Break that mold too much right off of the bat and he could easily be rejected by said audience. I personally believe that they went far enough to appease the hardcore fans without alienating newcomers. It's a perfect balance for this stage of the franchise.

I actually liked how grounded it was. I know about Deadpool so I was prepared for all the crazy tangents, but for a mass audience I think it really helped the movie that Wade is presented as a very human, very flawed character who has to go through a lot of "real world" shit before he can get the red costume on and start talking directly at the audience. I think it's what makes it a truly great movie and stops it from being what could have easily been something novel but ultimately throwaway.

If we get the full on insane Deadpool later on, then I'll have no complaints about this movie and for what it is, and the job is had to do = cant complain. Brilliant.
I just worry that they will keep him grounded and reletively sane in future movies, for the mass market appeal, is all.
