Yeah, I thought Deadpool was hilarious! I went to see it yesterday afternoon. There we'ren't really a lot of people there. Probably about 40-50 people. I'd say that 3/4 of the audience were laughing throughout the entire film.

Same with all 3 showings I went to. It wasn't just the laughter either. There were a few times throughout the film that people clapped at each showing.

I actually agree with most of your points, but it didn't harm my overall experience as much as it appears to have done with you.

I hope theres a 10 minute take of TJ Miller just riffing on DP's face somewhere out there.

Agree with jokes not landing. Only about 20% of the jokes land. Morena Baccarin will go down as one of the worst characters of the year.

I found it was mostly the big, or recurring gags, that missed. All the little throwaway winks at the audience were what got the biggest laughs for me, the audience we watched it with were surprisingly quiet throughout too. It wasn't a packed theatre, mind, but pretty full.

it feels weird being on the other end of the spectrum. I'm usually the one who's an asshat and complaining about a popular film like this.... instead I'm the giddy school girl who's seen it three times and want to see it a 4th because I had so much freaking fun.

Finally, staying away from this thread and all spoilers, I went to watch it last night. Everybody told me it was excellent, 10/10, hilarious. That made me get my hopes up, and usually, when that happens, I get disappointed. Luckily this was NOT the case! I freakin loved it, laughed my ass off for the entire movie and so did the rest of the audience.

Since this was a comedy, I tried to stay away from clips and trailers, because a joke is never as funny as when you hear it for the first time, and those that I watched on the trailers, weren't, so I did good.

Loved the references, the opening credits were really clever I was already laughing my ass off at them.
Just a really good movie, hilarious moments, great action, scary and freaky moments, great love story.... 5/5 for me!

I went to watch the movie with my Green Lantern T shirt, btw

are you shitting me? I wish I could wake up everyday with a "worst character of the year" who looked and acted like that. and oh yes, she will go down, in fact, we both will and often!

Ended up seeing it last night. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Genuinely funny parts, and the action was pretty good. Ryan Reynolds was gold.

I think I have a very different sense of humor than most, because most of the actual jokes in the movie didn't get a reaction from me, but the part I found to be the most funny out of everything was when
[Show spoiler]Ryan Reynolds, pre-cancer, was at the guy's apartment to scare the stalker, and he goes to hand the guy a slice of pizza and then just drops it on the ground in front of him
. Just so damn small and minor, but that's the type of stuff I find absolutely hilarious.

no, no, no. why do you think the performance she gave wasn't exactly what the director wanted her to give? you should direct your own movie and that way you can have the actor give the performance exactly the way you see it.

also, what point, are you saying because she is beautiful, she is not a good actor? as an actor, she's a fan favorite both tv & the big screen.

also, I am respecting what you had to say in as much as it's your opinion as what I responded to was mine. I had no problem with her character, her look or the way she portrayed it, and for reasons you have not expressed, you did; ok, cool.

i was a little worried at that scene.....to me he sounded like he was doing a different voice that he was going to carry over into the deadpool character.

then his regular voice came out and i

glad to hear you gave it a chance and ended up enjoying it!!

I think she's a great actress, the character is problematic, not Baccarin. She's the typical male fantasy love interest whose only character trait is "hot" and her only purpose is to have sex with the protagonist.

And before someone says it, because I know they will, I understand that might be the purpose, the movie even comments on it sort of ("It's like I made you in a computer"), but that doesn't excuse her from being a completely nothing character. The filmmaking isn't strong enough to say or di anything interesting with it, it's simply just "Hey look! Here's the typical love interest character! Superhero tropes, right?"
