Just a question:

Does someone here calculated Colossus and NTW's screentime in terms of minutes?

I would like to know they star on at least 3/4 of the movie and this is a "proper" X-Men movie too!

This huge house and you're the only ones here. Almost like the studio couldn't afford a 3rd X-Man.

It's an awesome cameo and besides it's Deadpool's film, it'd be weird if there were other stars in it that weren't part of his personal circle.

Just saw it for a second time - this time in a theater with much better sound and much better (and more comfortable) seating. Saw it at 10:30 this morning, so it was my wife and me and about 12 other people. I have to say - it was much more fun with a packed theater all laughing together, but it was still a lot of fun and the two hours flew by. Can't wait for this to come out on BD - Day 1 purchase.

While I paid full price my first go around, I specifically bought Mad Max and Predator: Wax Museum Edition for the $8 movie money because I really wanted to see Deadpool again. So these tickets only cost me $2.20 total. Of course, they got me for another $16 at the concession stand, so the victory was a hollow one. But still...

Why? It's not their film and the film makes great point as to why this or that happens w/ their involvement in his film.

I'll say it again, this is the perfect time to reboot the X-men.... Just make it a spin-off and have both a Deadpool and X-men franchise in this universe. Just the thought makes me smile.

They actually play a very important part of the film and they also tend to have some of the best scenes in the film with Deadpool.

I would actually love to see Fox do X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool as a shared universe. I know the chances of Fox doing anything with Fantastic Four before 2020 are pretty much nil right now though.

They already did that in DOFP. Kinda of...
The original movies are still "canon" anyway.

Lots of interesting info from the writers in the Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith podcast. YES, that was a decommissioned Helicarrier from the MCU, with just enough tweaks to avoid lawyers. I guess that was a joke on how it was a set piece in at least two of the MCU films so far. And, there will be at least two commentaries on the BD (Miller and Liefeld, and Reese, Wernick and Reynolds).

Thoughts here. I liked it and am happy for Reynolds, but I ain't dropping to my knees, begging for salvation like many have over this.

While this must feel great for Ryan Reynolds, it's not like he will get more successful work in other films - exactly the way it's been with Robert Downey Jr. Downey Jr. IS Iron Man but he hasnt had a career resurrection other than his Iron Man films and Sherlock films. As long as Downey Jr and Reynolds play their successful superhero characters, they will be good.

Many of these actors think they can just do whatever they like after being in a huge franchise but it doesnt usually work. With the X-Men movies, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Fassbender can do what they please and they'll get people to the theaters. With the Spiderman movies, Maguire and Garfield should have been more wise rather than doing the "i want to do more serious roles and I dont want to be typecast."

Garfield literally had no say in the matter. Jackman hasn't exactly set the world on fire either. His major films boiled down to being part of a big ensemble, a film based on a known property, or a sequel to the X-Men franchise.

Reynolds and Deadpool are going to be around for YEARS to come now.

I know what you mean but still Jackman films have been generally successful - regardless of what genre they are. The only huge financial flop is The Fountain but even that film has a cult following and is one of his best films.

The main point is that these folks should embrace their superhero characters and not get all bitter over it, especially when they will stay in the limelight if they continue playing their beloved superhero characters.

Not everyone can be Ryan Reynolds or Hank Cavill. Lawrence for example hates being in makeup for 14 hours a day and I can't really blame her.

Neither Maguire or Garfield were unwilling to do another Spiderman film AFAIK. Maguire and Sam Raimi were set to do a fourth until Sony and Raimi agreed to part ways. Garfield I'm not so sure of, but I think when Sony & Marvel brokered their deal, Marvel wanted to go younger and have Spidey definitely still be in High School. So his departure from that was more dictated by the studio.

Both were established actors at a certain level before Spiderman and both have mostly returned to that level since. Garfield was particularly good in his installment of the "Red Riding" trilogy over in England prior to Spiderman. The next two films he has coming out are directed by Scorsese and Mel Gibson so I think he's doing fine.

It's true that Maguire hasn't done anything recently though...
