it's a side effect of them trying to unlock his mutation, not a side effect of the mutation itself.

pretty sure they said something in the movie about having to destroy him first before they could fix him.

ACCEPT IT, the film is Rated-R and it's not appropriate for kids, and that'll never change. That's the film EVERYONE wanted three years ago and fortunately that's the one we got. Hopefully the X-Rated cut is released the same time as the theatrical because I won't be buying the theatrical from what I am reading on the X-rated. X-rated will be day one buy for me.

Normally I'm all for unrated director's cuts but I felt the theatrical version flowed very very smoothly so I think that's the one I'll be picking up. Wish they'd just put them both in one package though.

Well, given how almost everyone seemed to love the movie as-is I hope they preserve the theatrical in one form or another. I find that comedies in particular aren't usually served by longer/saucier cuts all that well (Apatow's movies spring to mind) so here's hoping the original is retained.

Hopefully they'll release it like they did The Wolverine Unleashed Edition, with both cuts at the same time, and not do what they did with X-Men: Days of Future Past - The Rogue Cut.
