I am hoping they will start filming mid to late 2011. I think if they let it go too far out, it will disintegrate.

I know, right? I think Deadpool has become one of his favorite characters as he is used in almost every video since he was first introduced. He has also really nailed the character in so many ways.

Deadpool Creator Blasts Studio

Comic book writer-artist Rob Liefeld has taken to Twitter to rip 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the feature film adaptation of his comic Deadpool.

CinemaBlend points out a steady stream of insults hurled by Liefeld at the studio, the reasons for which aren't immediately apparent but obviously Fox did something to piss him off.

Here's a taste of what Liefeld tweeted today:

"Dear FOX studios, get your act together. Deadpool is not Green Lantern, not a family film. DP is "filthy" think Expendables $$ w/ RR"

"Also FOX, find your balls and film the script from Rheese and Wernick. You will make loads of money and thank yourself later."

"It boils down to this, Ryan Reynolds, Mr. Sexiest Man alive paired with best comic script ever written, no-brainer....make Deadpool happen!"

Holy hell. I like it.

But it does worry me that FOX might not be making the right moves.

But are any of us really surprised Fox is YET AGAIN, making the wrong decisions on an X-Men film? They really do not get these characters do they....

I'm not but we'll still have to support the movie so hopefully we get a decent one.

I wish that Robert Rodriguez would at least produce it so it could be done inexpensively, so there would be less studio worry about not making it's money back...then they could actually take a gamble with this character and make a kickass, hardcore Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds!

Unfortunately it's far too much to hope for. That will never happen while Fox has a death grip on all of the mutant characters from Marvel's catalogue

Wade Wilson isn't a mutant!

At least, he's not a mutant in the way that Marvel mutants are mutants. Deadpool is exactly as much of a mutant as Spider-man is. Except where Spider-man was bitten by a radioactive spider, Deadpool was... bitten by... a... radioactive... Wolverine...? Whatever. Point is, he's not a natural mutant like all of the real mutants.

In fact, I hear that his Ultimate comics incarnation is vehemently anti-mutant.

That all said, Deadpool alone in the Marvel Film Universe wouldn't do much for me. I mean, what good would it do? I guess it might be fun to see him interact with some of the Avengers, but I'd really rather see him interact with Wolverine or Spider-man. I'd love to see the X-men and Spider-man revert to Marvel Studios, but barring that, I think I'd rather have Deadpool stay at Fox where X-men characters (including Cable!) could appear.

ps yes, I am aware that the film version of Wade Wilson very probably is supposed to be a natural mutant. I don't care. I'm operating on the assumption that they are going to "fix" that in the new movie... although I must admit that I didn't really mind that change to the character for the Wolverine movie especially compared to turning him into a mouth-less Baraka...

True on all accounts. Deadpool isn't a mutant in the conventional sense. In the Ultimate version, he is very anti-mutant, but that was a terrible terrible incarnation. Failpool is how I refer to that.

I agree that alone in the Marvel universe, DP isn't as much fun as he would be interacting with Fox owned characters. I am just thinking that Marvel probably wouldn't do what we all fear will happen to the DP movie, interfere and butcher the character ... again.

God that version of Deadpool was dreadful I really disliked him. Although I really don't like Ultimate X-Men much...I only got into Ultimate Spider-Man and the Ultimates anyway. But they screwed Deadpool up bad....

Honestly, I just hope Fox actually tries to make a good movie with this...I'm holding out hope that they do the character justice this time around. They have the perfect actor, the perfect writers, and the perfect source material. This movie would easily be a hit if they just took a leap of faith

Seriously. I was pretty excited for him appearing in the Ultimate comics, but it was just terrible. He was literally nothing like the original. I know the Ultimate version of characters are different, but sheesh.
Ultimate Spider-Man was good because it felt like Spider-Man. Ultimate X-Men felt like a teen drama with mutants; though, they had a few good story arcs.

Ultimate Deadpool never seemed that bad to me in the Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (though I've never come across is comic book counterpart). Unless maybe they downplayed the fan hated parts of Deadpool in the game for obvious reasons

I can't be positive, but I think it was regular Deadpool. Was the Spider-Man in the segment the Ultimate Spider-Man? The pictures and clips I saw looked like regular Deadpool to me.
