Cool for Collosus. Though his parts were small, he was enjoyable in the other films.

At this point, there's no need to get hung up on any character they announce will be in the film. Knowing Deadpool, some of these, like Colossus, could easily be cameos and one-off gag scenes.

I like Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and I'm glad they will be doing justice to the character as he should be depicted (especially after that travesty that was in the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine), but when it comes down to it, I'm actually not that big of a fan of Deadpool and I'm really not expecting much from this movie. If it turns out to be surprisingly entertaining, then great, but otherwise I don't have high hopes for it. I don't think I'm going to be too impressed by Fox's Deadpool, Gambit, or The Fantastic Four movies, but I really hope X-Men: Apocalypse and the next Wolverine movie does not disappoint.

I think Deadpool can be good if it's done in a style similar to Kick-Ass and Kingsman (which it appears to be from the test reel). If they tried to do it as a straightforward comic book movie I dont think it would work.

As for Carano, I hope her role is fairly silent and all action. That girl can fight (and she looks damn good doing it), but when she tries to act.... yikes, it's absolutely cringeworthy.

Action moments, yes. But EVERY line of dialogue she delivered in that film was painful. I have seen grade school plays with more convincing acting.

Pretty much my thoughts. I walked out of the theater after seeing Kick-Ass thinking Matthew Vaughn would nail a Deadpool movie. I walked out of Kingsman knowing he's perfect for it. His films have gone to some crazy extremes, and Deadpool would be the natural next step to an even crazier place.

Morena Baccarin Nabs Female Lead in 'Deadpool' (Exclusive)



Homeland star Morena Baccarin has nabbed the female lead in Deadpool, Fox's action movie based on the Marvel character.

Tim Miller is directing the action-adventure project, which stars Ryan Reynolds as an assassin who undergoes a procedure to cure his cancer that ends up leaving him twisted and scarred but also imbued with superpowers.

T.J. Miller and Gina Carano are already attached to the project, which is eyeing a March shoot and is slated for an early 2016 release.

Baccarin was one of a handful of actresses shortlisted for the role of Reynolds' character's love interest. The character grapples with falling for a man with a hideously scarred face.

The film is based on a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Simon Kinberg is producing with Lauren Shuler Donner.

On the film side, Baccarin will appear in Paul Feig's upcoming action-comedy Spy, opposite Melissa McCarthy. Her previous TV work includes Showtime's hit Homeland (which garnered her an Emmy nomination) and Fox's Gotham, on which she currently stars. She's repped by UTA, Seven Summits and Jackoway Tyerman.

I was thinking Copycat would be a possibility, but wouldn't that be redundant in the X-Men movie universe, since her mutant powers are the same as Mystique's (shape-shifting/mimicry)?

Or they could do what they did in the original X-Force comics, where they introduce Domino, but then you discover that she's actually Copycat, and you really don't meet the real Domino until later.
