Default Deep Impact vs Armageddon?

Both were made about the same time and have a similar plot. Which is your favorite movie?

Armageddon is better. The cast rules; although, the storyline is silly.

I haven't seen Deep Impact since it came out, but I love Armageddon. From what I remember, Deep Impact was a good disaster movie, but Armageddon is just an awesome movie. I love all of Michael Bay's movies. Some of them have a lot of cheese, but he's one of the masters of Action and his movies are so much fun.

For me its Armageddon. I love the storyline and the acting of Bruce Willis and Ben Afleck. One Bruces best movies in my book. I like Deep Impact though to but if I had a choice between the 2 it would be Armageddon.

Armageddon, OBVIOUSLY!!! Where else will you find Michael Clarke Duncan, Ben Affleck and Steve Buscemi singing Leavin' On A Jet Plane in (kinda) harmony? It's an awesomely bad CLASSIC moment!

Yes it has a cheesy cry you eyes out ending, but I like it. It would be a Day One buy for me.

ARMAGEDDON! Better scenes & sounds(especially The Criterion Collection version), very fun to watch movie!
Deep Impact was good, but too somber & serious.

Deep Impact. Armageddon made no sense. Lots of sound and fury, signifying nothing, with lots of the Kiss of Death: Rockets, roaring through vacuum.

Deep Impact had actual human suffering as the topic; lots of pathos, which I generally don't like, but it was handled as part of the story of planetary danger. A much more mature film.

Definitely Armageddon. It's manly, yes, but I like it too.

Cool story/subject matter
Amazing cast
Great special FX
Good soundtrack
(it's Michael Bay, what more do you want?)

I can't wait for it to come out on BD later this year. (Fingers crossed for DTS Master Audio. It's a Disney/Touchtone release so we have a good shot at getting it!).

This is sort of like asking, "Which tastes better: dog poop or cat poop?" They were both pretty horrendous. If I was forced to pick which one to watch, it would probably be Deep Impact.

I realize that Armageddon was one this films where you're supposed to leave your brain at the door, but d*mn, it makes a Roadrunner/Wile E. Coyote cartoon seem realistic in comparison. Couple that with the obnoxious Russian character and Steve Buscemi's "space dementia" nonsense, and it's pretty unwatchable without a large quantity of liquor or some sort of brain damage.

Deep Impact seemed like a big budget TV movie of the week but at least it didn't go to such ridiculous extremes. And there's always Morgan Freeman who classes up any movie he's in.

How can anybody even compare Deep Impact and Armageddon? One has an asteroid that hits the Earth, and the other has sheer awesomeness

Deep impact is more realistic, Armageddon is more spectacular.
