It is a gif of Christopher Walken acting sassy in the best superhero film ever, though, so there lies Kryptonic's redemption.

It's perfection in the video department.
The sound, interestingly, was much better than expected.
In stereo, I had to turn this one up much higher to get the sound close to the other to prequels in terms of volume and oomph.
In surround, it's almost the same, and there is plenty of bass and rumblings going on. Really sweet.
There was pretty much always something in the surrounds, but it was more environmental stuff. Spaceships and laser blast weren't nearly as bold as in TPM and AOTC, so it's not quite ideal, but still loads of fun and very enveloping.

The film is so sad. It's really heartbreaking to witness the fall of our hero, and democracy.
It's the best film of the entire saga to me. It's got the whole package.

The lightsaber fights are absolutely amazing, and there is lots of emotional weight to the Anaking/Dooku fight. It's so shocking when he

, and the Anaking/Obi Wan fight.
I love when they are wielding their swords, and at the same moment use the force to push each other. It's sheer brilliance.
I love everything about it, although it's really emotional, and makes my heart ache.

Video: 5/5 This is my new/old reference disc to go.
Audio: 4,5/5 I wish there was more oomph, and more aggressive use of ships and stuff zipping through the surround channels, etc., otherwise excellent.

Film: 10/5

To the haters, I already have most of you on ignore, so save yourselves the responses.
While I totally disagree with just about everything in this post I do respect his opinion ( I think we all know his stance and have seen his reviews several times in this thread). I also feel that at this late date this can sorta be construed as well a baiting post. Just my personal opinion though....that's no different than me saying I just rewatched the ROTS on my new system and gave you my review (unfavorably) again.

Uh-huh. And calling Lucas a clown isn't baiting so much as reasoned intellectual discourse.

I hope that the new one is a Stand-Alone film, and not a forced Multi-Parted.

That's not baiting at all...I think he is a clown in the context of what I wrote. Has he not contradicted himself and been caught in lies over the years? The guy changes his mind from year to year with regards to his films. So in my mind he sure is exactly that. It would be a different matter if I were calling him names just because I didn't like his PT or because he has not released the UOT on BD yet (that would be baiting). There is nothing that guy can say anymore that I would believe without at least raising an eyebrow.

Clowns are supposed to be funny.
Lucas is not funny...
He is, however, a revisionist.

I hope they are all done by different directors! I would love to see if they could get SS to direct one.

Like Pirates of the Caribbean vs Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3.
or even Empire vs Jedi
Awakens needs to be able to stand on it's own.

Jar Jar is doing Awakens
Rian (sp) is doing ep 8
they haven't announced 9's yet.

Also, the official Trailer left off the Episode 7 tag.
So I won't be counting it as part of the Saga!

I don't know. I'm just as disappointed as I presume you to be over not having the movies available that I grew up with in the best possible quality, but I don't think I'd go saying things that would ultimately only end up making ME look bad. I'm not the internet police or anything and I'm not easily offended, but I do think the 'what have you done for me lately' approach to artists is short-sighted, snarky, and entitled. I'm not a blind Lucas fan-boy, but I am a cup half-full kinda fella. Lucas is the poster-boy for his entire generation of directors who make bad movies and are suddenly the worst directors who ever lived. I'm sorry to signal you out, but I get sick of 'PROMETHEUS' AND 'CRYSTAL SKULL' AND 'THE HOBBIT' ARE THE WORST MOVIES OF ALL TIME!" They aren't. And neither is Phantom Menace. They're no where near the best movies of all time either and that's fine. The moment when Jaws premiered is gone. The moment when Star Wars was fresh and new is gone. This doesn't diminish their importance and no Phantom Menace or Crystal Skull will either. Lucas is not the artist he used to be. Neither is Spielberg. Neither is Scorsese. So should they just pack it in, roll over, and die?! I'll choose to be cup half-full about it and have respect for who they were. To this day, few people focus on Billy Wilder or Howard Hawks' late films, but rather we revere and remember Rio Bravo and The Apartment.

And I'm not trying to change your mind about anything you think, but a little perspective can be a powerful thing.

Are people still arguing about the Lucas has the right/doesn't have the right to alter his films thing?

What is this? 2011? In case anybody forgot, Disney owns Star Wars now and are in all likelihood working on restoring and releasing the UOT right now.

And last I checked, the OT is available on DVD. So evrythings available as far as that goes.

In other threads here when someone posts derogatory comments about the films or creators they are called trolls. It's the same thing here afaic...

its funny how 2 Sith take over the galaxy yet when the tables are turned the last 2 jedi run and hide and don't fight back lol

Come on Sarah..really? You really going to go there with that amazon link. You know as well as I do those are ported from an inferior Laser Disc scan. They are not even anamorphic....not to mention BD in 1080p. That post of your is pure baiting material and you know it.

I think, even though the BD's, to me, look and sound terrible, I'm going to get the Prequel Trilogy only.
I'll hunt around for either the Original Release DVD's or the 3rd Release DVD's of the Original Trilogy. Maybe even both...
