I agree most ESB Changes are good, but the voice of Boba change is the "Han shot first" of ESB

Huh? You're saying when you watch Return of the Jedi you can't tell that the old guy in ghost form is also the guy under the Vader mask? Looks the same to me. I don't know why you think most of his face is blocked. All that's really blocked is his chin, which is hardly anything.

What is more believable than you saying "Who is that old dude?" is Luke saying "Who the hell is that young dude?"

Changing " bring my shuttle " and changing Yoda's sinister music are the worst for me.

Oh yeah! Right after Yoda says, "You will be," there used to be that awesome shrill cue cutting to the star destroyer in the asteroid field.

Now it's like, "You will be," and sound-wise, the ground drops out beneath your feet. As a result, the lolwut face on Luke seems completely inappropriate (and even...a little funny?) without Williams working his magic there.

One of these things is not like the others.

Well, he also says Vader "betrayed and murdered" Anakin, so...

I mean, at that point switching gears and telling the truth about the lightsaber would have been kind of weird, wouldn't it?

"Your father dropped this on a lava bank after I sliced off his arm and both legs and left his burning ass there to die. But, you know, Vader totally murdered him. Want some pancakes?"

As a kid I loved that, it gave Yoda an edge. Like there was a hint of the dark side with him. When I watched the Special Editions in the cinema in 97' it stuck out like sore thumb. Hate it.

I noticed that a couple years ago as well. I just checked the original cut and then BD cut and it does stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm fine with the Hayden Force Ghost too.

That being said, we should've gotten an Ewan McGregor force ghost as well if that's the direction Lucas decided to go with regarding force ghosts. Don't half-ass it, go all the way.

Sure it might sorta work, but not as much as the Haydn ghost that directly harkens back to his happier time (complete with creepy look down).
It was Lucas's mistake to make him so young in the prequels. It's not OT's fault. One thing that feels a bit odd is that Sebastian Shawn is older than Alec Guinnes but Obi-Wan says that Anakin was a young pupil of his.

It's allll about screen size, in my opinion. Those 4x3 letterboxed laserdisc transfers provided as "extras" on the 2006 dvd releases... they look great on the 32-inch TV in my living room, but are pretty much unwatchable on the 92-inch projector screen in my home theater -- and that's with an Oppo blu-ray player, which is widely considered the best dvd up-scaler around.

For years I tried to pretend it didn't bother me, but then I finally caved and procured blu-rays of the Despecialized Editions. Even those have their issues, since they dip in and out of different sources, including (when necessary) those same laserdisc transfers. It can be pretty distracting while watching on that 92-inch screen.

Compared to old VHS tapes, no. Compared to HD content, yes. I have some Disney archival documentary content on LD you can't view any other way, and they always already looked rough, so it's not really an issue for me.

I would hope they look good compared to VHS.

Those caps actually look pretty good but it might be because of how small they are. But now I feel like watching my LE DVD lol
