And the Revenge of the Sith teaser and some of its tv spots used red colored font for the title.

On those home releases I always hated how Episode IV looked especially using Empire artwork/picture because of his scar.

I don't know if the prequel artwork was commissioned as opposed to a staff photoshop special of OT (DVD), but the so called theme series looks like crap.

The limited editions look slightly better, but with non-anamorphic and all, I never bit.

I can't remember if everything from 2004 DVD of IV-VI made it to bluray?

Most of the bonus features on the 4th disc didn't make it over, most notably the 2+ hour "Empire of Dreams" documentary.

They lost a lot of Star Destroyers. Countless TIE Fighters, Stormtroopers.

Yeah, a few pockets may have survived, but they were decimated.
Germany lost WWI. And then, 30 years later...

It was only 20 years and 3 months from the signing of the Treaty of Versailles (June 28, 1919) to Germany's invasion of Poland (Sept 1, 1939).

Ok, but how many days? Days, I says! Answer me that, Mr. Smarty Britches! And don't forget the leap years!!! I only think in round numbers and generalities. Comes from living in Los Angeles for (way) too long.

Also, I hit my head two weeks ago and I'm a little confused. I think.

What day is it? Why is the Celebrity Apprentice host on TV all the time? Who am I? Where is my mother?

Agreed. I won't go so far as to say the celebrations (either classic or new cokes) were dumb but even back in the day they seemed somewhat premature. Even before the Thrawn books came out (and I only read one and I don't remember much of that) the idea that the Empire just folded its tent at the end of Jedi seemed a little implausible.

The Empire clearly had enormous resources and it's not at all unreasonable to think some of the authoritarians in the imperial power structure would try to maintain their control. Some sort of New Order seems not only plausible but almost inevitable.

That was nice. Thx. I kept that disc. A shame that didn't make it over.

It was nice getting the old laserdisc docs on bluray, but shame so many other great ones were dropped.

Does the prequel trilogy with Yoda on cover (DVD version that is 6 dsc, not bluray) have same discs?

As a guy who kept up with old EU back in the day, I specifically remember that after the Special Editions came out, there was a novel or comic that specifically mentions the celebration on Coruscant, and how the villain of the story (I think it was Admiral Daala but I'm not 100%) sent a bunch of troops to quell the uprising and publicly executed the people who pulled down Palpatine's statue.

Which made sense because the Empire still had control of those planets and they didn't magically disappear because Vader and the Emperor were dead.

You have to keep in mind, it's Space Fantasy. The Evil King is dead, and so his empire crumbled away. Not much different from Barad-Dur collapsing.

It's a neat and tidy way for Lucas to end his story. As for Episodes 7-9, who knows how he would have told it.

I can buy all the celebrations because I figured what kept the Empire in power was the dark side of the force (Palpatine mostly, and Vader). Remove them and the Empire doesn't fall in a day, but it shifts the balance of power to the rebellion. I'm guessing Lucas put in the celebrations as more of a symbol to say "yes, that was the end of the Empire" instead of a 15 minute montage of rebels all over the galaxy taking out the remaining Imperial forces.

It's always other writers that point out how easily the Empire could be maintained or just morphed into something different yet similar because conflict is the key to every story. But I think Jedi was the end to Lucas's story as he wanted to focus on the prequels someday.

Or Lucas adding in all the celebrations around the galaxy was just another mistake that he made with the special editions.

I agree. It was stupid, and takes away from it being a victory for our heroes, to some kind of victory for the galaxy. Plus give me Yub Nub over that Yanni New Age crap music that got put in for the Special Edition.

Yub Nub is for 8 year olds.

It does not take away from the heroes, it adds to their achievement - they were working to liberate the galaxy, not just themselves.

Yes it adds to their achievement adding really bad green screen compositing to show people on other planets celebrating in footage that looks like out takes from a Wing Commander CD-ROM game from the mid-90's. And sorry Yub Nub may be Ewoks singing, but in context it makes more sense than listening to some John Williams elevator music that sounds like he must've been on downers while playing with healing crystals and aping Zamfir.

Yeah fun game, but the green screen was bad...just like in the special editions of Star Wars.

I mean I don't know, maybe its just me but I find it a lot more emotionally satisfying going from the fireworks above Vader's funeral pyre to the celebration on Endor to random celebrations from across the galaxy. To me its almost as jarring as in the Empire Special edition where Lucas felt the need to actually show Vader's shuttle landing on the Super Star Destroyer (which is not needed, and is to stock footage from the opening of Return of the Jedi) right in the middle in the chase between the Falcon and the tie fighters at the end.

I agree. Original Yub Nub ending anytime. And I also hate those celebrations that were added.

I don't hate the celebrations added but now with the sequel trilogy being made I find them a bit redundant.
