And I'm even holding off on THE MANDALORIAN 'til I can binge 'em all in early 2020. I think Disney is insane to muddy the RISE hype with that show, as much as I'm genuinely looking forward to it. Right now I just want to give my full nerd attention to the Classic Saga.
The Ewoks films were released theatrically in Europe and are canon. Just saying...

I have purchased some of the new additions despite owning the previous set because of the digital copies.

This will include everything from the cringeworthy (Jar Jar, Young Anakin) to the feature spin-offs (SOLO and ROGUE ONE) to the truly historic (the 1977 classic that started it all, in its original unmolested glory thanks to 4K77 v1.4). We may even stop by Tosche Station to pick up those damn power converters.

It's pretty darn exciting to start Episode I, knowing there'll be an Episode IX at the end of it all.

Which audio mix do you pick for 4K77? I’m going to watch that and 4K83 for the first time and I’d like to listen to the original or best mix for them.

I go with the 2.0 stereo mix... cuz that's probably how I first experienced it when I was six, in 1977. Purely a nostalgia-driven choice.

Wife 'n' I got through PHANTOM MENACE last night. Oof, that's a rough start to a saga. Quite honestly, I usually have a whiskey with my prequels, but the wife would fall asleep if we drank so we're doin' 'em all sober. My conclusion: they're better with whiskey.

It's always interesting to me how schizophrenic these flicks are. I would call the first half of MENACE a "3 out of 10"... but after a mid-way intermission to re-set for the second half, I'd call it a "7 out of 10"... plus a 10-out-of-10 lightsaber duel, of course. But that first half without a whiskey... oof.

Anyhoo... it only gets better from here, 'cuz I'm one o' those super-rare folks who thinks ATTACK OF THE CLONES is actually the best of the prequels, by far. Corny dialogue aside, bring on the Battle of Geonosis!

Re-watched it myself a couple of month back and found it actually to be pretty good. Better than ep.3? IMO no but certainly a much better film than I remember.

A solid 7/10.

AOTC is the only prequel I flat out dislike overall, but I enjoy parts of it alot. I'd still say it's more watchable than the sequels though, as it at least has an imagination and doesn't think it's smarter than it is.

I'm with steel_breeze on this one. Attack of the Clones is my favorite of the prequel movies. Revenge of the Sith is my least favorite.

I just rewatched Phantom Menace and that is without a doubt my least favorite prequel. It just feels so tedious and should’ve been a first act. I think they got better. Revenge of the Sith being my favorite prequel.

Across the Stars is easily some of my favourite Williams work.

when AOTC came out, people liked it. It's only recently that people started maligning it saying it's the "worst". Mass hysteria gone viral. 9/10 for me. I don't think the last 40 minutes of AOTC have been topped in any Star Wars movie.

On the contrary, when AotC was released in theatres, my then-girlfriend and I watched it, and when we weren’t falling asleep at the monotonous exposition and boring bits, we were rolling our eyes at the corny and embarrassing dialogue, not to mention the utter lack of chemistry between Anakin & Padme. It was NOT a great movie right from the word go...at least for many of us back in 2002.

No, it was poor upon release in terms of its comparison to other Star Wars films and its still poor. Even when I saw it theatrically at 20 I was extremely disappointed by it and I worked at Blockbuster at the time where not many customers were enthused by it.
