When it came to Return of the Jedi, he felt due to Chewbacca he'd established Wookies as a fairly technological race. And it wouldn't fit the storyline to have them running around with spears and such. So we got the Ewoks instead, for better or worse depending on your tastes.

I am glad we did get our big ass-kicking Wookie ground battle in Revenge Of The Sith though.
Oh! Didn't know that! As always, Beast, your knowledge of the SW Universe astounds me.

Han seems very close-minded about things. I'm sure he doesn't really believe in Life Day either. Considering his behavior in the Holiday Special.

Chewie probably just learned a long time ago to roll his eyes and not even bother trying to correct him.

Well, who says he didn't at some point. Han seemed to know something about Jedi Knights at the time he was unfrozen from carbonite and thrown in a cell with Chewie.

[Han and Chewbacca are reunited]
Han Solo: Chewie? Chewie, is that you?
[Chewie grabs Han and shakes him]
Han Solo: Ch-Chewie! I can't see, pal. What's going on?
[Chewie barks]
Han Solo: Luke? Luke's crazy! He can't even take care of himself, much less rescue anybody.
[Chewie barks again]
Han Solo: A Jedi Knight? Jeez, I'm out of it for a little while, everyone gets delusions of grandeur!

Just because it wasn't on screen, doesn't mean that it didn't happen at some point.

PCM is great too, but the enormous space it takes up does worry me a bit. I want the best PQ humanly possible, and I think either DTHD or DTS HDMA can achieve that without taking about too much space.

Then again the POTC Trilogy showed that PCM on long movies is perfectly possible, and those were relatively early discs, so yeah, it should be doable without any problems at all.

I'd really hate to see compression related artifacts on the SW BDs!

it would be extremely nice if they added as bonuses the two original Clone Wars seasons to this collection...

don't hold your breath

Would be nice to have the Clone Movie thrown in.

I have only watched half of a CW episode. Thinking about buying them all (movie, S1, S2) and watch all of the shows in order.

Would that be I, II, CW Movie, CW S1, CW S2, III, IV, V, VI, Holiday Special?

Or I could use the previously mentioned idea:

IV, V, I, II, CW Movie, CW S1, CW S2, THEN the Holiday Special?

Another thought, seems it would have been more coherent in the PT to combine I&II into a single film and expand on III (perhaps into 2 films)...

Not including them with this upcoming release (ala Blade Runner) could certainly be a financial decision (and probably a smart one - however much they could raise the price almost certainly wouldn't cover the costs).

But withholding it completely? I don't know how much that has to do with money.
Do you think they're just doing it to be mean?

I wouldn't count on anything Clone Wars related being included (the movie or the seasons). The Clone Wars movie and series are distributed through WB, while the actual Star Wars movies are through Fox.

Agreed! 300 and Superman Returns both have PCM along with DTHD. Not sure if it has been said they suffer from compression related artifacts, but I haven't seen any when I view either.

You don't see the banding in the underwater shots in SR?

To be fair, that's from Warner trying to compress over 2 hours of film + extras + lossless in less than 30GB for HD DVD.

I guess Lucas is going to skip HD DVD. Sad with VHS, LD, DVD, and now Blu...

Seems like he is missing out on a $ opportunity - especially for the completists out there who wanted it in every format. Wasn't it also on those RCA Video Discs as well? I know it was never on 8-Track and not sure about BetaMax.

Considering the wording on the latest press release from Fox I would say some further enhancements are a virtual certainty. What specifically they may be is anyone's guess.

Let's hope that in addition to whatever new tweaks Lucas has in store the few glaring problems with the most recent OT SE release get straightened out. Lucas is supposedly personally overseeing this blu ray project. I can't imagine him watching the OT on whatever bad ass, calibrated to hell and back set up he has and letting the goofs in the '04 release persist.

Nuh-uh. I've only seen the movie twice though and didn't notice, but not something I want on my SW blus like BY said. Not like we would ever get PCM on these anyway. Just wishful thinking. Thanks for the info though. Going to watch that scene...again...and check that out.

I agree there will be some additional enhancements. I am just hoping for 7.1 sound and the issues from the DVD release are corrected (I am sure they will). If Lucas is actually overseeing it this time, we should be in good shape! If not..oh no...lol

He personally oversaw and approved everything for the 2004 releases. The reality is that he has terrible judgment and/or is quite blind.

No he didn't. He was busy making Revenge of the Sith at the time. And didn't give it his full attention.

At least attempt to find out the facts before you sling around the Lucas bashing. It's just old.
