It is indeed on a Friday, the 16th of September. I am not ordering it online. I have a few gift card from Future Shop that I am saving for this and on release they they usually have a lower price as well. I am getting the day off work, will be at the store at 10 am and then spend the rest of the weekend enjoying this one

I'm assuming people needed to take a break because it was getting too argumentative.

Same thing happened in the LOTR thread over green tint.

Amazon always gets it to you on the release date if you order two day shipping

I hope they'll show actual clips from the blu-rays, and simultaneously release them at StarWars.com in 1080p. I expect some scientific screenshot analysis if that happen.

I don't see why they would release clips in 1080p for people to find flaws with. We live on an internet where someone actually altered how much Han Solo's hand twitches while he fires. Its better to let those people buy them and then get all kinds of crazy on the details and the picture.

I think it is supposed to be a surprise what they show at ComicCon. I'm working a booth there so I will hopefully get to see for myself.

I'm surprised that other studios are actually releasing other BDs around the release of Star Wars BDs. This will surely break all records for the month of Sept 2011.

I'm excited as anyone to see all 6 star wars films on blu-ray in 1080p HD resolution and DTS HD Master Audio 6.1. It will be great to see the last 2 prequel films episode 2 attack of the clones and episode 3 revenge of the sith in 1080p HD since they where shot on HD cameras back when those films where made. 2nd it will be great to see the original trilogy on blu-ray as it will be the special edition versions and it will interesting how well the original trilogy films hold up well to blu-ray since the films of the OT where made in the late 70's and the early 80's

I was six when I first saw TPM. Needless to say, I was amazed by the movie at the time. The use of CG On Jar Jar, the environments and battle droids was unlike anything I had ever seen before. As such, regardless of what I think of the film itself now, the movie still holds a special place in my heart.

This will be the best that Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith can ever possibly look. They were shot at 1920 x 1080 resolution with a Panavision HD-900F and Sony HDC-950 (respectively). That's the downside to all-digital films. For theatres and DVDs at the time of release, this were fine.

Sooner or later (probably later rather than sooner), there will be a better hi-def format. The original trilogy and Phantom Menace will be able to be scanned at 4K resolution (4096 x 1743 at a 2.35:1 AR), a significant upgrade. AOTC and ROTS will only ever have a resolution of 1920 x 817, whereas the "film" films will be able to be scanned at increasingly higher resolutions, revealing more subtle detail (although obviously film will reach a "limit" at which there won't be any real benefit to a higher resolution in terms of detail)

I just watched Attack of the Clones on DVD the other night, are the clone textures ever dated! Even on the DVD you can see the pixelation of the scratches and dirt on the clones armor, felt like I was watching Toy Story on blu-ray again :P The EP2 CG Yoda looks a bit "faker" than I remembered as well. Watched EP3 last night and the CG holds up much better.

I like the movie, although this was the first time I've seen it since I started buying blu-rays. Granted, this was the full screen version, so really shouldn't be jumping the gun just yet... I'm curious to see how they will look in HD.

This...

I'm more worried about how the CGI will look on Blu-ray than I am the models and puppets used in the OT. We watched the first 25 minutes of TPM the other night and I couldn't believe how fake the CGI looked. I know the DVD is not known for its PQ...but still...Jar Jar and a lot of the green screen work looked VERY dated. I honestly think episodes IV-VI look much better on DVD than a lot of the CGI used in TPM and AOTC. I can only hope that things don't stand out quite as much on BD and look even more dated. I think we're so used to amazing CGI these days...that the old stuff just doesn't cut it. On the other hand...a lot of model and puppet work tends to look really good since they were using actual physical models.

ROTS should look pretty amazing since it is more recent and the CGI looks phenomenal as it is...although i don't see myself watching it that much.

Last...I REALLY hope the audio is fixed in Star Wars (ANH to some). We need Williams' score put back in the forefront and the surrounds fixed. Do that...and I can overlook some of the SE changes
