Struzan is a fraud. He's a commercial artist with no talent. Anyone can just replicate a picture with oils...takes forever however.
Not that this discussion belongs in this thread, but what's the difference between painting a portrait of a still subject and what Struzan does? He's got great technical skill. Not many people can do what he does. He's created some of the most iconic images in film art, period.

Why do you feel the need to sh#t-talk other artists? Delusions of grandeur? Self-esteem issues? Jealous of his success much?

Indeed. I'm always suspicious of posters who vocation-drop in their post as if that is supposed to make me give them and their opinions extra credence. If in the body of a post, you read the words "as an actor", "being a musician myself", "since I'm an artist" or something like that, remember that if they were really committed to their particular art, they wouldn't be spending so much time on the internet...

Back on topic. Yeah, Struzan should have done the art for the Saga box...

Anyway, back on topic. It would have been great if Drew Struzen would have come out of retirement for the Saga set. Not that cover art is everything.
hahah, I apparently owe you a 'T' in my post...lol This is why I shouldn't type before having coffee.

Default The waiting is the hardest part

I'd bought the original trilogy on dvd years ago and put off buying the remaining ones as I wanted them on blu. YEARS of waiting and now it's just around the corner. Money well spent.

At least he got the spelling of his name right. It's Drew StruzAn, people. Or more like MISTER Drew Struzan. Which reminds me, back in the 80's I always thought Drew was a woman :-)

Thanx for that. I've corrected my posts. Does that make me like George Lucas...?

You didn't just seriously suggest that we store our Blu-Ray discs in a DVD case, did you?

As much as I hate Episodes 1-3, I can't wait to see how good the Podracing scene, the Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul and the final fight on Mustafar looks on Blu-Ray.

Excellent! There you go all you case-hating dudes -- get a 9-disc case without any cardboard. And since you likely hate the box art, you can easily download one of the posters that have been discussed for the last 4 pages and print it out for your own custom case. Case closed, let's move on.

I'm still disappointed at the design for the complete saga set. Why is it that studios cannot release a movie in standard Blu-ray packaging? I'm so sick of these "slip 'em and slide 'em" packaging. This is why I'll be passing on the set. George Lucas should have known better.

George Lucas didn't design the packaging.

Sweet, we'll miss your contributions to this thread then. Hope to see you in the other Star Wars thread that discusses the movies in general.

FWIW, I'm so happy I'm not the kind of person who passes on movies I love due to box art, packaging, cardboard, disc art, or other silly things I don't have time to worry about.

Its not until return of the Jedi that luke fixes his lightsaber and finds an old green crystal that he tries to reuse. Lightsaber crystals are like one in a million during the OT..they are a dead and outdated weapon.

It fits the story perfectly...hope this explains it.

okay, but that doesn't explain why the ends switch from being rounded to being pointed like a modern sword. and if they jedi collected thousands of them, wouldn't vader have kept some of them after order 66 so he could keep his saber in top condition since there were still jedi hiding in the galaxy? seems strange that a sith lord would allow such an obvious weakness to exist when there is a simple solution to it.

can't we just leave it as special effects have changed and so the look changed a little? it is like trying to explain why the phaser and communicator keep changing in Star Trek 2-5 when they all take place within a year or why the transporter effect looks different in Deep Space 9, Voyager and the Next Gen movies when they all take place at the same time.
