Well, I prefer the gold coloring, because it sort of "fits" with the fantasy element of the series, but I suppose green makes more sense, for a city that's existed underwater for however long.

the new coloring is obviously gold- the old was closer to orange.

R2's black panels were never corrected for ANH. Just ESB and ROTJ.

"To be fair, I think most people want the color and sound problems from the DVD set to be fixed. Thats not what I would call "unrealistic perfection."

Having the OT in HD but with the same color-timing issues would pretty much undermine the entire point of the visual quality of the films. And of course, we all buy Blu-Ray for the picture and audio quality, so to have something about the picture and audio that bugs you wouldn't seem like it was worthwhile to pay for (especially when you're dealing with films people already own in various previous versions)."

I could not agree more!

C'mon guys, I know we're all huge SW geeks but it's important to have some standards in life.

Ideally I'd love for ILM to go through these movie with a fine tooth comb and make everything 100% consistent and improved. That would entail a billion tweaks though. However I think many of us will simply settle for a damn CG Yoda and some basic FX/audio and color fixes for GLARING problems from 2004 or before.

That is far from unreasonable or "nitpicky".

Anyway so far things r looking better so thats cool.

I bought the latest copy of Review:

http://www.dvdreview.co.uk/category/...th-paying-for/

It has an interview with Mathew Wood and on page 33 it says:

"Each film, fully remastered in gleaming high definition and a new lossles 6.1 audio track"

Go figure.

Don't worry i am pretty sure it will. Remember it has been reported that ILM has gone back and corrected the Lightsaber shots.

Sounds like they did not use the 2004 masters then.

But what about all of the versions in between?

The Ultimate cash grab would be a Blade Runner-esque set for each of the original trilogy movies. I would buy it in a second, an I'm sure many others would as well.

- Original Theatrical Release (Similar to BR Workprint)
- 1993, 1997 and 2004 transfers on one disc (seamless branching)
- 2011 Release
- BD Containing Hi-Def extras
- DVD containing SD extras

Now you can bet that there will be those that will still continue to say that these aren't clips from the Blu-rays, but come on, why would they post old clips to promote the Blu-Ray? Not only that but the audio mixed used in this clip is not the 2004 mix or any other mix used before. Well they haven't done much here to fix the colour because those bloody X-Wings still have pink/ magenta engines instead of red. The cyan tint doesn't look to be there and the image is brighter but the crushed blacks are still there
The sound effects if the Xwings passing and when they pass through the shield are definitely new

Man I would have been happy with half of that for this upcoming release.

- HD Theatrical release
- 2011 HD SE Release with all the bells, whistles, fixes and final corrections
- BD Containing Hi-Def extras and bonuses, deleted scenes...etc...

I don't need a dvd of extras, digital copies or any of that redundancy. And the 1993 (?), 1997 and 2004 transfers can be saved for a future mega archival type release - it's not like there's some insane demand for any of them anyway.

We can always LAUGH at 1997 CG Jabba on youtube.
