It it a good sign that there's no PT leak. That's what has me hoping this leak is fake.

A legit PT leak would mean a full look at NEVER before seen clips of CG Yoda as well as a full look at the TPM re-framed.

So far everything in the OT leaks could be fan-made. In fact I've seen folks over at originaltrilogy do even better work than that pan of Jabba's door.

I don't post on threads for movies that I have no interest in or think are bad movies. Having said that, I haven't ordered yet. I'm waiting for the first credible reviews to see what these BDs are really about. But anyone who decides to cancel their order because they just can't accept either the quality, the supposed lack of fixes or the changes, but STILL posts here is beyond all hope, IMO. In the end, they're no better than a troll.

You can't take every single frame and every single tiny bit of audio out of context and expect it to work. A movie is much more than the sum of its parts. If I dissect enough, I can make any movie ever made look bad, whether it's Birth of a Nation, Modern Times, Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, An American In Paris, Bridge on the River Kwai, Ben-Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, Midnight Cowboy, The Godfather, Amadeus, The Lord of the Rings, Slumdog Millionaire, etc. These were all Academy Award Best Picture winners and they ALL have their faults. But they were all great pictures. (And I do expect someone to post that "no, those movies were all crap".)

All this discussion about laser colors really boggles my mind. Who gives a fk? Is that what people were really paying attention to when they first saw this movie? The color of the beams emanating from the weapons? That's funny because I was paying attention to the story and the relationships between the characters. IMO, people who pay attention to this crap are making the same mistake Lucas made: he thought that by enhancing the special effects and adding more buildings, people, creatures, fighters, etc., that he was making the movie better. He didn't realize that once you achieve a certain level of believability and craftsmanship, adding more on didn't matter. The people who are critical don't realize that likewise, the color of the lasers is meaningless (all IMO, of course).
Dude awesome post you read my mind

Agreed.

Of course, 99.999999999% of consumers also eat Cool Whip, Lunchables, Hot Pockets... They'll take whatever you hand 'em...

Anyway, I'm not a fighter, so I'll embrace the new "vision" of Lucas.
His silence is what made the scene so powerful, despite the expressionless mask he wears the audience can see and feel the internal darth vs Anakin fight he is having.

it's the Kuleshov effect thats been used in films before.

Laserdiscs have uncompressed stereo audio, so IMO they will always beat DVD in terms of stereo audio (the 5.1 AC3 audio is more compressed than DVD though)

In my experience, the DVDs look slightly better than the Laserdiscs.

However, the LDs do not have any of the distracting compression artifacts, I just find that the picture is a bit softer overall, with slightly less detail... I would still take the LDs over the DVDs.

Also, (not @ Jar Jar Stinks), just to set the record straight. No one was complaining about the blinking Ewoks, we just brought them up as proof that the blu-ray rips were in fact different from the HD Broadcasts floating around. That's the only change (so far) I'm willing to accept

Fincher let Sorkin, do a scene in Social Network and he never directed before either.
sorkin was allowed to do 'a' shot, a single shot- a second unit shot that was prepped and just needed someone to call action-

"Serkis has shown an interest in directing" an interest??? 7 year olds show an interest in things, lets just get a child instead because they have an interest.

second unit on a blockbuster is not the place for someone to start- besides from being a bad call it blocks someone who deserves the position who is a second unit director from getting the position- so some rich actor who has a "interest" gets a major job, while a deserving director gets passed on.....

I'm willing to admit that, but then that begs the question as to why he even bothered to put together any demonstration at all.

My main point is that I can see ignoring those 0.000000001%, but the fact that he went out of his way to ask for that tiny segment to see what he had done and then refuse to do it and/or do what his representatives have publicly admitted would piss that tiny segment off seems, I don't know, needlessly cruel?

It's just a matter of hours before PT would be leaked I think. You know, it takes a while to encode 3 movies.

Technically, the late Heath Ledger served as an uncredited second-unit director for his two handheld camera scenes on the Dark Knight. This could be the same as that.

Enough with the Serkis talk already..this star wars people..

Heard george also added Sebulba to jabba's palace. Don't have screen shot or confirmation yet.

That change doesn't bother me that much. I don't think its inconcievable that a pod racer in jabba's races wouldn't still be there. Though its a useless add..lol

He's just chilling with all of Jabba's crew... But, is that really him or just one of his kind?

My six month old has been having a ball watching Daddy crack up all day long....
It really is funny as hell watching some people freak out over a color on a movie made in 1977. I have been entertained all day as well.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! BINGO! GIVE THAT MAN A PRIZE!

The whole scene works because kiddies, there's a moment of pause for him. A moment of truth. A moment to redeem himself. A chance to be on the right side of things. It's a huge moment and considering how many moments of pauses we all have in our lives, how many moments of self-reflection, etc......the scene was perfect as it was without the stupid "noooo's". The deeper meaning and thoughfulness is lost. You bet!

What a load of ignorant crap this thread is. Why don't you wait to see Andy's work before jumping down his throat? I meet Andy briefly back in 2004 and he was one of the nicest, most humble people you will ever meet and seeing you call him on work you haven't even seen is disgusting.

But hey, its a star wars thread filled to the brim with crybabies willing to complain about every single frame of a movie just because you can.

Grow the hell up.
