No crying of the inner child here or anywhere else in this thread from what I've seen. Two "why bother" kind of changes that don't hurt the films(Ewok eyes and R2 behind the rocks) and two stupid audio changes. One that is laughably bad and another that hurts a classic scene and ties the conclusion of the series to an unintentionally funny moment in ROTS. Not enough to make anyone cry but definitely worthy of comment by anyone that doesn't like it, and it seems like many around here don't like it. What better place to comment on a Star Wars film, pro or con, than a Star Wars thread? After all, I'm not one of those kind of "fans" that lap up every change and leave my objectivity and critical thinking ability at the door.

He gave his opinion on it 20 pages ago. (Then 19/18/17/16/15 and so on) we get it you don’t like

The kicker for me is the fact they made the "why bother" changes but couldn't be bothered to fix more important issues such as the Lightsabers.

I think that really is the very essence of what we are all complaing about.

So some of you strongly dislike the changes but still plan to buy the set?

I can't figure out why Lucas ignores the fans...

You could just buy 4 or 5 of the movies on blu ray that he didn’t ruin (in your opinion) and just watch the other ones on dvd or whatever version you do like (is there one?)

Yeah, until a better version is available, I think I'll have to mute that moment in the film to keep from shaking my head at the stupidity and laughing at the same time.

Im gonna take it all in and see what happens next.

To georgec : It is Star Wars I have no choice but to buy it, even if that choice meant certain death. It is the irony of being a Star Wars fan.

Exactly, the thing that really bothers me the most, is that they specifically pointed out certain things, in particular that they fixed, that is apparently complete bullsheet.

Why?!

Funny, that's probably what I'll do if this change is true (and ends up being that bad). I'll just take a bathroom break and switch discs right after the Emperor say's "So be it, Jedi."

Beanham22, you have a choice. I'm not telling you to not buy the set, I'm saying that if you don't like the changes you're not obligated to buy this.

To go down that path is to never come back...

Yeah I agree it makes no sense.

And georgec, as pissed as I am about the vader change I am still getting them. This is why good ol' George gets away with this crap, he knows he has a death grip on most of us.

Not me. If the "Nooooo!" is actually in there, I'll stick to 720p fan edits and the 2004/2006 dvd's. I'll take the lower resolution to that absurd, revisionist crap any day. I'll believe it's actually there when I read the review on this site, though. Until then, I'm just not sure.
