Apparently that will be available on the same day they release a fully remastered version of the UOT on Blu ray

Eh, ALMOST always looks better. Depends if a studio destroys a title for its home video release or not.

Anyone who cancelled for that sole reason is not a true Star Wars fan. Simple as that.

I'm guessing an alternate take and alternate angle. I like the new shot.

I did not bother ordering it in the first place. GL's track record told me to not bother.

I knew someone would say that.....

But not in this case. The HDTV screen caps look compressed like no tomorrow. Almost like upscaled DVD. The Blu Ray's do have more detail, but isn't because of "DNR".

GL needs to get over himself or someone over at Skywalker ranch needs to get a pair and let him know that there is a great want for the UOT.

Patrick Stewart should go there with a shirt that says UOT on Blu Ray Make it So.

You are not alone. Many here have cancelled their orders and with the prequel films, meant to be the crown jewels of this set, having been DNRed to high heaven so that all the characters looks like they could melt at a moments notice, many will follow.

So much for three levels of quality control.

When it comes to overall quality, both shots are almost the same, just look at single hair at the right; looks exactly the same at boths shots.

TPM looks like a big mess right now; some stunning, sharp, film quality shots and DNR, soft nightmare with no details.

i am speechless you really think the HDTV version is better

Don't worry guys in August of the year 2017 Lucas will announce at the Star Wars convention that in fact The UOT will be coming to blu-ray in 2018 and that he wishes it would come out sooner but he is finding new stuff in the UOT vault everyday.

That's not such a long time to wait is it???

Remember that old saying:
Everything comes to he who waits.- And trust me you will be waiting a long time for that moment.

Look on the bright side you can still enjoy the blu-ray's and the impending release of the Star Wars movies in 3d..
