No Moviestops in Wisconsin AFAIK. Just about everything else near me: Target, Best Buy, Wal Mart, etc. I haven't seen anything advertised by the big chains, yet for a midnight launch, however.

Just going by the run times posted in the leaked files, all 3 prequels are virtually identical to the DVDs. All are a second or two shorter than what the DVD's are showing in my PS3. I'd say that this confirms that no new scenes were added at all. There are some small cosmetic changes being reported in The Phantom Menace but nothing really worth noting yet.

I'd be very surprised if he allowed the UOT to be released by itself ever again. I think the best we can hope for down the line is a mildly restored UOT as a bonus feature in a box set with the 2011 Blu-rays.

Here's a deleted scene from TESB remember when Han said to Leia:"You could use a good kiss"-- Well that was not in the original script:

Ugh, so they got most severe with the DNR on my favorite element of the film (Liam Neeson)? Still, it's leaps and bounds better than the dvd, though that's seldom been enough for me in the past. Decisions, decisions.

At the very least, I'll get Episodes II & III when and if they get solo releases. They look fantastic.

I believe he'll release it, eventually. I do think he'll wait until a time when there isn't much controversy; I get the feeling George Lucas doesn't like being told what to do or being pressured by fans. He'll delude himself into thinking it was his "vision" all along to have all versions available, but the SSE's were always his "preferred" versions.

In the end, we'll all lap them up like broken puppies regardless.

I think it's just the opposite, but would be an interesting experiment in any case. I think the kids won't notice the differences.

Also, I've been thinking about the new "noooooooooooo". While I agree with those who feel that it was unnecessary because Vader's body movement and hesitation reveal what he's thinking, I think I know why Lucas added it: it marks the beginning and end of Vader. He screams "nooooooo" when Anakin becomes Vader at the end of Episode III when he finds out that Padame is dead and he newly screams "nooooooo" when he saves Luke. At that moment, he becomes Anakin again. So the "noooooo" is a bookend of sorts and in that context (aside from the quality of the line reading), it sort of works.

I do love a good Mince pie.

So, to summarize the last 500 pages:

One group says the changes to the saga are an assault on film history
One group says they're no big deal
Vader's new "NOOOOOOOOOOs" are the worst change this time
A fairly small minority is cancelling their orders
A larger group says they're crazy
Pretty much everyone is upset that the UOT is not available on Blu-ray
Pretty much everyone feels a 4K scan would have been better for I and IV-VI
Most dislike the package art on the saga
Pretty much everyone feels AOTC is the worst movie of the bunch as a story

What other major points am I missing?

Someone mentioned in another forum how the 'DNR' shots could be that way because they were the ones done in reshoots, and those reshoots could've been done with the digital cameras.

Also, what if Neeson is supposed to look that way? Think about in the old b&w movies they used to apply filters to women's shots...

75% will still buy some sort of sets while oly 25% say they will not buy.

I am surprise I was expecting the not buying numbers to be much bigger and this is on a site where people know what is happening with the release. I am starting to think this will sell a lot better then I feared it would last week with the first backlash came out.
