How does wearing less equal genuine maturity?

I'm not familiar with many stories like that.
The original Clash of the titans has quite a bit of nudity and this was a pg rated movie that was watched by many kids back in the 1980s through today.

There is still scenes they won't add.

AOTC
Padme and Beru scenes on Tatooine

And I'm hoping Anakin's Nightmare refers to the one he has on the refugee freighter and not an extended scene at the Lake Retreat

ROTS
Obi-Wan comes to Padme's apartment before he leaves for Utapau

And the goonies was rated PG and had cursing out the wazoo. Guess it just goes to show that kids were tougher & smarter back then, and far more capable of handling realities than these pansies we're raising today

How about just calling them ALL Starwars ? Thats what they are, and what GL is working towards.

By refering to them separated by trilogy only damages the wholeness of the saga /me thinks..

Does it matter if its "whole"? The OT is quite self-sufficient and frankly I think the prequels cheapen it. I think of them as knockoffs, not the real thing.

Oh, and I nearly relented and re-preordered. Gulp.

However, seeing as there are only a few days to wait I'll definitely wait for a mixture of reviews before abandoning my principles entirely. Just not convinced the PQ of the OT will be significantly greater than the upscaling my Oppo does on the DVD's to warrant me having to sit through the changes... Plus I know I'll only watch the PT once then they'll be left for years before I watch them again.

Still, if the OT get consistant 4/5 for PQ and 5/5 for AQ accross various sites I may well succumb to the dark side (as it were).

Haven’t read much about the audio. What have you all heard? Think it will be reference level?

If one really Loves Starwars, then yes it should and does matter.

They are 100% Starwars films, all 6 of em, and those who seek to keep dividing them and help substain the disliking for the so-called prequels can not be considered Starwars fans imo.

Have only watched ep 1-3 yet (last night), but audio is worth the upgrade alone. AOTC is still the king of bass, and with tactiles installed this is a 2hr 20min back massage overall volume is lower than usuall dts hd ma though, up to 9 db lower. Usually play at -9 with most dts films, but here I was on 0 and down to -3 on the heavy ep2 sequences.
Also felt that they have toned down the bass on lightsabers in ep 3 opposed to ep 1&2 though, but maybe it was just my senses getting abit overwhelmed after 5 hrs straight and the tour de force that is AOTC..

Because there wasn't one. They just re-released the VHS box set in a white package with an Episode II feature.

Is the bass smooth and controlled or does it just rumble (dvds kind of just rumbled)? Would you call the sound reference sound?

The Prequel Trilogy is much easier to tolerate if you look at them as horrible What If? stories.

After seeing how horrible Anakin Skywalker's background was, I wish the mystique behind Darth Vader's origin had remained that way.

I thought this kind of BS had been eradicated from this thread? You're not a Star Wars fan if you don't like the prequels? Give me a break. I'd loved the OT for 20yrs before the prequels came along. Are you even that old? This is the BLU RAY thread and people can talk about the PQ/AQ and quality of the films as much as they want without fear of abuse from the Star Wars Stazi.

Honestly this thread sometimes.

Oh, and it's sustain.

Thumbs up May The Force Be With You

I can feel the excitement in this thread growing for this release! I know there are some that are still not too excited about the new changes, but I would encourage you to just enjoy these films for what they are - ENTERTAINMENT!

We could all use an escape, and I know for my family and I anyway, next weekend, Star Wars Episode's 1-6 are going to provide the perfect escape/distraction from our busy lives.

The only thing that has kept me going everyday without going bonkers is reading this thread with all the discussions, very interesting!

Goodnight (or good morning) all,
elliotroad
