I'm missing the 'both trilogy boxes' option.

I've see a lot of pictures and unboxing movies of the Complete Saga boxes, but nothing on the other two boxes ... somebody has them?

I spent $30 for the 2004 OT set a month ago. I was hoping to pay maybe $20 :P

But I really wanted to see ESB in Widescreen and have the Bonus Disc (I've seen that disc along going for anywhere between $10 and $20 on ebay )

I was able to pick up the 2006 Limited Edition of ESB yesterday for $2.50! It's in fantastic shape

How come so many people didn't already own all the DVDs before this release. They were all day one buys for me. The individual PT DVDs then the Silver OT trilogy then the Limited Edition seperate releases with the old versions on a second disc.

I couldn't have cared less about Star Wars in 2004

I think around 2006 was when I really started to get into the movies. But then I was just picking up the discs for $5 apiece at fleamarkets.

So I ended up with Episodes I-III and V in full screen, IV from the 04 set and VI I bought new in 2006

Now my shelf looks almost uniform, the PT in Widescreen, the '04 box and the V & VI Limited Editions. Right beside a total of 5 VHS box sets and 16 individual cassettes LOL

Oh right

I remember the day the OT first came out on DVD! I had flashbacks today as I picked up the BD set from the very same store, 7 years later

This will actually be the first SW box set I've bought brand new in-store at full price

I bought Episode III new in like 2007 or something

I remember seeing the 1997 VHS set in all the stores throughout the rest of the 90's, but I was so young... finally ended up getting it 14 years later

There are lots of forward thinking members that believed the DVD's was just a transient state for Star Wars and it would in fact change again in the future (and be released on a newer format). They were of course all correct.

It's a bit like not chatting to a pretty girl beacuse you have believe there may be an even prettier girl several streets away. Although if you do ask her out for a date be prepared for her to say "No.... Nnnooo!!!" and throw your evil master down a reactor shaft....

I bought most of them day one (apart from the LE's and TPM), my OT was crushed to bits if I remember....

My set arrived today in the UK

I've watched two thirds of Phantom Menace and will watch the rest tomorrow now. No point discussing the film, have spent the past 12 years talking about it.

The transfer though. Better than expected. Much better in fact. Looks like film. Bit of crush here and there in the darker lit scenes but the colours look pretty fabulous. There's plenty of detail and DNR has been applied, but not overly so. I'd say this is a 4/5 presentation. Absolutely blows any release we've ever seen of it out of the water - as it should.

Don't remember the extended pod race being this extended on the DVD. People go on about the alterations to the OT but despite the million criticisms of Menace, the pod race was always a great scene. The pacing of the race now it's been extended definitely works against it. It was perfect as it was theatrically in 1999.

I've adjusted my TV settings using a THX optimizer. (I cant find any other calibration tool ) But now it looks too dark, but I dont know if thats because I've had it set too bright for so long.

I wanted to get the Disney one but I cant get it in the UK are there any recomendations or links to any. Are they worth it or is the THX one just as good?

I have a feeling my TV needs upgrading. It's LCD and about 3 years old. But I cnt get the drop shadow on the THX logo right. The brightness setting just doesnt get it to a point it should be, it's either too dark or too bright.

I reaaaaly want a Plasma...

Have seen the two first, that is...Hell,A new hope and Empire strikes back today.Think you will be happy with it mate if you don't put your critical goggles on It is a very good release, but sadly not reference material.Just good solid transfer.

Will tacle Return of the jedi tomorrow as it's the weakest of the trilogy.Got only the OT version.

I love how Luke, Han, and Leia got the shaft on being on the disc art. What gives?

Disc art should've been:

Obi-Wan - The Phantom Menace (he is the main character as he has the most screentime)

Padme - Attack of The Clones (the love story is the focus of the film)

Anakin or Vader - Revenge of the Sith (the movie about is Anakin's downfall)

Luke - A New Hope (Obviously. I can't believe they screwed this one up!)

Yoda - The Empire Strikes Back (Lucas stated that Yoda was the most important thing about the film)

Emperor - Return of The Jedi (the movie was stopping the Empire)

Han, Leia, and Chewbecca (or R2-D2) - For each bonus disc

Well, Greedo shooting first and Hayden as the spirit pissed me off to no end that I refused to get the 2004 box set. I won't stand for illogical character arc changes.

When the UOT trilogy came out, I was tempted to get them, but since Blu-Ray had made its debut a few months prior to them, I knew it would be the next big thing and just waited for Star Wars to be upgraded. It took 5 years, but patience paid off. Unfortunately, Lucas held back on re-releasing the original version so I'll have to wait at least another 7 years if he decides to change his mind.

Yeah, my Sledge Hammer season sets are like that, and they're that old, but I've only watched them once since I first got them.
