He must have found it pretty disturbing that they were burning him "alive" a few minutes later...

My nephews and nieces watch them, the 4-year old freaked out a bit when Anakin was burning in ROTS (we tried to get him out of the room but he snuck in)

I would just like to know if any stores will actually be opened at midnight in my area. They used to be big on doing these midnite opens but lately they have been non-existent.

You know - the ONLY change that legitimately, legitimately bothers me out of everything George Lucas has ever done to these movies, and that ALMOST makes me want to whine and b---- up and down on a forum is:

...the replacement of Sebastian Shaw w/ Hayden Christensen at the end of RotJ. I understand the reasoning behind it, but you can't tell me that Luke wouldn't have been thinking, "Who the f--- is this guy?"

Just drives me wacko.

Although the OT is my favorite, I still enjoy watching the PT, even Episode I(!) In my mind, Liam Neeson's performance of Qui-Gon is still the most "representative" Jedi.

Yeah, me too, JJ. But I think Luke is supposed to sense his essence and just know who he is.

I'm not sure why it hasn't occurred to Lucas to add in a couple of "mental flashback" moments in Luke's thoughts showing quick cut-scenes from the Anakin in the PT when he's thinking about his father (like at the end of ESB or during RotJ). Seems logical to me. It would reinforce Luke's belief of a "good" side to Vader, and also lay the groundwork (both for Luke and for the audience) for Christensen-Anakin appearing at the end rather than Shaw-Anakin, who presumably dies with Vader.

Just watched the Making of Star Wars (1977) documentary from my Blu-ray set. It looks as though its had some light clean up work as, despite being shown in SD, the detail and grain is pretty nice.

"True fans" will be saddened to hear however that during the Millennium Falcon training scene, Lukes Lightsaber does in fact switch between teal-green and blue. The core is teal green, and when Luke sways the 'saber around, it has a blue and green trail.

(It pixelated when I paused the video, apologies)

So much for the "IT WAS NEVER GREEN!! Never!!!

Some great other bits from the UOT too which fill the screen nicely.

It's a matter of attitude and if you're willing to go along for the ride - like kids always are. It was the exact same thing with Episode IV in 77. Grown-ups didn't get it back then. Lucas always liked how the Kurosawa Samurai films appeared to western eyes. It was a strange, exotic world and you were thrown into it without the explanation what exactly Samurai are and what their special skills or their code were. He did the same with Star Wars...

The PQ on the blu ray is a MASSIVE improvement over the DVD

http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ess=#vergleich

and i can vouch for that. Got the set monday. And TPM has very good PQ yes there is scrubbing but there is still big amount of detail on this i would give it a close to 4. And ATOC 4 and the Original trilogy looks absolutely phenomenal 4.5. But ROTS is reference 5 all the way

Those not buying this set is definitely gonna miss out. The technical presentation is amazing

That would totally break the style of these pictures. There are no flashbacks or slow-motion. With the small exception of Anakins visions and Luke/Vader in the cave...
