I think the problem is that most people cannot separate between what they love and what is actually good. I love 60s and 70s Godzilla films, absolutely love them. I've watched Godzilla vs. Gigan almost as much as I have watched Star Wars. But I would never say it's a good film or think that anyone is stupid because they do not like it.

I think too many people react too quickly to some of the comments made.

So some people hate the prequels and comments that they are crap, all I can say is who cares? The fact that they saying it does not change the fact that I enjoy them.

I think Avatar is a giant pile of crap and one of the biggest joke in the history of cinema for being such a lame movie and making tons of money. Clearly some people seem to think its a good movie even if I think it's crap? They still are enjoying it! I feel sometimes too many people react to negative reaction to their favorite movies like someone was attacking their first born child....chill my friends, chill and enjoy your movies, who cares what other think of them.

Good/bad is all a matter of opinion or point of view. What's good or enjoyable to one person may not be for another. It's NOT science or fact, it's an opinion.

Really? Recall C3PO in ANH, recall the garbage compactor scene in ANH, recall the terrible dialogue between han and Leia. The latter is as cringeworthy as the dialogue between Anakin and Padme.

To call RotS childish is absolutely hilarious given the content.

You know things are becoming slow on this thread when people are starting to argue if the prequel trilogy was good or not....

For the record, I think ROTS is the best of the three by a long mile, although it could've been even better. I also remember when I got the prequel DVDs, I only watched TPM 3 times and AOTC once or twice. I don't think I could watch those films again, unless they'd go through some major editing.

Neither package design is ideal, but the Europeon design certainly looks after the discs better. That much is a fact!

The problem I have with the prequel trilogy is that all three films kind of follow this kind of trend:

Ship lands.
Serious conversation.
Concerned look.
Ship takes off.
Cut to a different conversation (aboard a different ship)
Ship lands
Serious conversion.
Concerned look.
Ship takes off.

I lost track how many take offs and landings there are. Poor old John Williams must have got bored trying to score them in unique and interesting ways. Oh, there goes another take off...

I hit Target up friday night and bought one loose as I already got the set and shirt at Best Buy.

We went back to Target on sunday and they still had a good amount of them. I know every Target is different, but if you hit one tonight you might have a chance.

Lots of reports about audio dropouts on various forums, particularly with Episode II. It appears the audio dropouts are pretty much limited to Panasonic brand players. I experienced audio dropouts AND video freezes when playing Episode II (Attack of the Clones) on my DMP-BD35 (Episode I, The Phantom Menace, played without issues). The surface of my Episode II disc is flawless and I don't see any paint flaking off of the printed side.

I have petitioned Panasonic to investigate this situation by sending them an E-mail via their web site:

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...t/Contact-Us.2

If you have a Panasonic brand player and you're experience audio and/or video issues with the Star Wars set, please take a few moments to write to Panasonic and explain the problem. If enough people write, hopefully, we'll have a firmware update/fix sooner rather than later.

Mark

I'm sure it's been mentioned before but WTF is up with Obi-Wan's beard in Attack of the Clones?

Some scenes looks like his real facial hair and in that SAME scene he has 'make up' beard that looks all patchy and ridiculous. Never noticed before, was quite distracting, everytime he was on screen i was checking it if was real or fake beard lol.

But seriously what happened? Were there some reshoots and Mcgregor didn't have time to regrow that beard?

I noticed that when I saw the movie in the theatres. always been like that.
I agree that it was annoying. they fixed that problem in episode 3.

You're absolutely right. If you can't enjoy the films it won't change if you explain to the person what's so great about them and vice versa... I personally just find it frustrating when "The PT is bad movies" is supposed to be common sense and the people who crap all over Lucas' work see themselves as protectors of film-history. To me, if someone considers Episodes 1-3 as crap he has no right (and that's just my opinion) to demand preservation of the OOT. I instantly lose respect for those people... It is also frustrating when the strength of the movies, that they are imaginative, complex and wise is turned upside down in calling them dumb and boring. You don't HAVE to be familiar with Joseph Campbells work to get the movies but it certainly helps to see them as the masterpieces they are. I could say Transformers is a bad human drama or The Godfather is a bad action-movie - but I wouldn't be fair to what these movies are supposed to be...
