If we were discussing the mix, I think we could all agree it's not as well-done. As far as the AQ of the Blu-ray itself though, ROTS is as good as the other two. The audio transfer is tremendous as far as its detail, actually - occasionally surpassing the others by my estimation.

I think some people may just be a little bit too obsessed with their subwoofers (but I've always felt that way about HT systems, to the point where I keep my sub a bit quieter than most people so it doesn't ever overwhelm the other speakers).

ROTS isn't as spectacular as TPM and AotC in the AQ department though it still has it's moments (the ship crashing was pretty good.. the sound effect which always standouts for me is when Grievous shatters the glass on the Invinsible Hand, you hear the glass crack, then blow wide open and then a very detailed glass breaking).

To answer your question about palps being stupid, maybe it's to be consistent with his inability to stop shocking when Vader picks him up and chucks him to his doom in Jedi.

Windu is too badass. Maybe people think it's cool that Windu can smash a entire army with his bare hands (steel droids? Especially the Super Battle Droids??), I found it pretty lame.

And why shouldn't Palpatine stop shocking? It is the best way to kill Vader (he relies on electrical equipment to keep himself alive), he of course also dies pretty quickly after that.

And Vader submissive to Tarkin.. well Tarkin was in charge of the battle station, Vader was there as to make sure Tarkin didn't get any ideas with the Death Star for overthrowing the Emperor for example.. Vader outranks Tarkin (Vader is Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet, Tarkin is a governor of the Outer Systems).

I don't get all of the hate for TPM. The movie has so many mini-adventures just like A New Hope. That's what I love about the films...so many adventures in 1 movie!

So what about Jar Jar? 1 or 2 films with him as a character doesn't ruin the rest for me. The battle in TPM is great and so is the Pod Race. Even the travel through Naboo (with the fish) was great.

Well, once I finish Disc 9 I'm going back to watch the Audio Commentry on all 6 films.

Then I will watch Star Wars: Clone Wars Vol.1 and 2

Then Star Wars: The Clone wars (2008)

Then Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 1 and 2 and eventually 3.

Just finished ROTJ, and a quick note on the Anakin ghost with Hayden. Actually, the probelm with the addition is not the replace of Shaw with Hayden, but with the Hayden suddenly and unnecessarily looking down and then back up. That throws off what would have been a perfectly good scene. It's like they only did one take of the whole shot. It's like Hayden started to laugh during the shoot and had to look down to hide the smile to then look back up after his recovery to a straight and serious face.

As far as I know, the reason it looks so oddly out of place is because it's just stock footage. They didn't actually shoot him specifically for RotJ - hence his odd expression as he looks off to the side.

But one thing I've noticed from the OT deleted scenes, a lot of black actors ended up on the editing room floor!

Anakin Skywalker is dead when the Emperor is talking to Vader. And at the beginning Vader says "and I'm sure SKYWALKER is with them." He already knows Skywalker either was the one who destroyed the Death Star or is part of the Rebellion.

On a related note, are Anakin's lips still mismatched while talking to Padme on Mustafar, or was it fixed? There's a very brief moment of this on the DVD.

Everything in Episode III appears to be the same minus the wipe from Obi-wan to Anakin's robotic hand (that was in the theatrical release that was replaced with a straight cut for the DVD version.)

You won't be disappointed if you want more of a Star Wars fix! Start with the Clone Wars movie and then move to seasons 1-3. It's been made clear over the course of the films, that in Vader's mind, he and Anakin are two completely different beings. He even tells Luke, "That name no longer has any meaning for me". He has abandoned his humanity, and wants nothing more to do with his past. His main goal in the OT is to overthrow the Emperor (presumably in revenge for what was done to him in the PT), by any means possible. As for Palpatine himself using the third-person approach, you could always think of it as him reminding Vader of that separation. You'll even notice in "Sith", that once Anakin falls to the darkness, Palpatine no longer refers to him by his given name. He only uses the name of Vader, or says "my apprentice".

They aren't on BD as far as I know, they were only ever released on DVD, they are quite old. From before the days of BD

Lando is a good man put in an impossible situation. He didn't think he'd be betraying his friends and having them end up in Imperial custody; it was either go along with what he hoped to be a temporary inconvenience or probably be killed outright. Lando did what he had to and redeemed himself before anyone (save Chewbacca) could even really react to what he'd done.

Lando Calrissian is one of the greatest heroes of the original trilogy.

A bunch of us got together and made an entire day out of watching all 6 movies in order. It was a long haul but we made it. After watching them all I really appreciated the complexity and effort that Palpatine put in his effort to create his Empire. It took over twenty maybe even thirty years (his time to become a Senator, etc.,) to gain the trust he needed to build his devious plot. I don't blame Yoda for failing to see this. No one did.

Not a huge fan of the originals. I guess after watching the prequels with it's updated technology and the cool special effects. The originals just look VERY VERY outdated and it distracts me. I wish he made a remake of those movies.
