I hate that more than combo packs - usually because they then split features between the various releases. but I still hate combo packs as they are evil.

Not if you have children.

You think I let the little ones handle the BDs?

Currently I own the complete saga box set, which I hate for the artwork and the cheap/lame disc storage. As I love the new artwork on these two new sets being released on 10/8/2013, my only question left is.....how are the discs stored this time around?

I'm expecting them to be in cardboard sleeves. But I hope it's a regular BD case.

I'm not exactly sure why you're being so oblivious to the fact that the existing trilogy sets come in amaray cases. Why are you clamoring on about what the re-release will have when a set without cardboard has been available for years now?

Star Wars blu ray Trilogy Prequel and Complete Saga uboxing review comparison - YouTube
Because I'm trying to find out what the packaging specs are. I understand that the existing seperate original and prequel sets have cases, but I much prefer the artwork of the upcoming sets. If I'm gonna buy them to replace my Complete Saga set, then I'd like to know what the disc storage solution is. That shouldn't be that hard, but apparently Fox doesn't even know it's own product, which again is just sad. Certainly no pre-release Amazon buy for me. Hopefully, I will see them in a brick and morter store. Sorry if I wasted your precious time.

As they are 6 discs sets, it'll be highly unlikely to come in an amaray case. Expect either a digipack, or more likely another cardboard slot case.

Unless each film gets its own case.

Yeah that's possible, and if that happened, it could be a sign of individual releases on the way. Individual cases in boxsets haven't been Fox's style of late though, but I guess we'll see in another week or so

Yeah, I recall. I think that might have been one of their last. It was actually a re-release of the previous PotA collection in standardized packaging. The only other difference between that situation and this is the fact that all the movies were released individually already. So they basically just had to slap a box around it and call it a day.

JW Rinzler's 'Making of' book for ROTJ has finally been released, and it's just as engrossing, exhaustive and informative as his previous two efforts. Awesome stuff.

I received mine yesterday. It's stunning. I would kill for them to make an extensive ten hour documentary, ala Crystal Lake Memories, about the Star Wars Saga based on his books.

I was waiting for ROTJ to be released so I could get all three books on iBooks. Can't wait to read all three.

Wellity, wellity, wellity. Remember the New and Improved blinking Ewoks on the Blu-ray of Jedi? Rinzler's book sez that a bunch of blinking tests were done with the costumes prior to shooting but they could never get it to work. Not to excuse the alteration, but it appears to be something that's always niggled at Lucas. The pink lightsabers can wait, we GOTTA FIX THOSE GODDAMNED EWOKS!

Not sure what you're trying to say but almost every single line of dialogue in the original theatrical version of "A New Hope" was looped.

Back in the day, I twice saw Tom Holman do a seminar on film sound in which he played segments of Star Wars with the original live audio as recorded on set, then the looped dialog, then effects "a", then effects "b", then with the score added in various combinations.

Almost none of the live dialogue recording was ever used.

Also, almost all film sound (except for the music score) is recorded in mono and panned. Only in the very early days of 6-track 70mm and Cinerama did they attempt to record dialog and effects in true stereo.
