And good to finally have some confirmation of additional tweaks. Though still no 100% word on Digital TPM Yoda.

The only serious un-tweak I'd like to see is going back to the "You're Lucky You Don't Taste Very Good" line from ESB. It's the only change that I didn't really care much for. Since it was only done because the sound elements for the original line were in worse shape. But maybe they managed to fix or find a better element for the original line with this new sound mix. It's not a major make it or break it deal though.
YES! I love that original line Luke says to R2. I do not like the new line they put near as good. I hope they change that as well. I'm starting to think they might change Han back to shooting first.

I'm somewhat doubting they will. Though I wouldn't be surprised by some additional tweaks.

If they've gone back to the original soundtrack masters, does this mean they've ditched things like Han's "Its OK, I can see a lot better now" and that Kiwi dude who over-dubbed Boba Fett?

That's a display copy for them to photograph. It's probably been open, closed, and flipped through countless times. And it's been forced to open flat for photographs. My Alien set doesn't look like that, even over countless times watching the films.

I doubt they're going to undo the small change to Boba Fett's voice. Since he is that "Kiwi Dude".

Did I read that right? The Holiday Special might be on here as an easter egg?

I doubt the whole thing is there. Unless Lucas reversed his loathing dislike for it.

I'm betting a part of it will be on there though. Such as the Boba Fett cartoon.

If I'm wrong, I'll be giddy as hell though. A nice copy to go with my Rifftrax would be fun.

The lightsaber cross shot from Return of the Jedi looks spectacular.

The DVDs are obsolete now...and I've never, ever noticed that Wampa gaff in Empire Strikes Back. NEVER!

I am going to have to try to keep from retching while pulling those disks out of their sleeves.

It does! You can barely see the "Emperor's Slug" anymore. It blends in well with his hood.

"The holiday special is a challenge, but look for some Easter Eggs"

That seems to indicate a negative for that.

That's one way to avoid scratched discs: put them in upside down....

Default Old masters

So they didn't do any new masters for the OT? 7 year old scans of the negatives?

Digital scanning has come such a long way in the past 5 years alone, and I would at least have expected them to go back to the negatives and do 4K scans like they did for the BRs of Se7en, Fight Club, Minority Report, Blade Runner etc.

And did they really use the original digital scans for TPM from 1999? Really? Wow, they have to look ancient by todays standard - or maybe that chick from LFL doesn't know, what she is talking about? Again, they do 4K scans on far more recent films today, as stock degrades extremely fast.

I for one is very sceptical. It doesn't sound like they really put the required effort into those restorations and went cheap - and even pointing out that they have now fixed errors that are a product of the earlier restoration, as if they didn't screw up the QC the first time around.

Same here, I've never seen that Wampa error before. I wonder if you have overscan on your tv if the overscan takes that part outta the pic and that's why some of us have never noticed or seen it before.

Why isn't the corrected Wampa Arm framing all rectangular. If you watch in the bottom left corner, it's rounded....
