These being images from the official StarWars.com press release, you may correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't use any imaging software to analyze them, but aside from the lightsaber being fixed individually or selectively, I still see a darkened image like the 2004 release. My expectation all along has been that the same color timing issues would persist, aside from touch ups to individual effects or portions of the image. If the bottom pic isn't a blu-ray screen capture, then this point doesn't apply, but I would assume that in promoting a blu-ray release the studio would want to put out images representative of the final product to best promote it.

So, the question remains whether or not GL actually shot new footage for the OT during EP II and III and if it doesn't show up on this set then when and what else would that set contain?

It has been noted that the images that Lucasfilm has been releasing showing the changes are not from the actual Blu-Rays. They are just promotional images created to show some of the changes/corrections that have been made for the Blu-Ray release.

It appears that it is indeed region free. Amazon UK would be a good place to order.

Honestly, I'm starting to believe that they aren't showing us any REAL screenshots of what we will see on the blu-rays, mostly because a picture can never represent what we will see on our TVs. Plus, I can't really see a difference in quality between any of the pictures. They just edited what they said has changed, mostly just to show that it has changed for the Blu-Rays, but you'll have to buy them to see them

If they don't then go for HMV.

While we're on the topic of where to order, any ideas of sites that are likely to ship early, maybe a day or so before the street date?

I know that pretty much every online place in the UK ships out on the Tuesday/Wednesday before release. So you get it 2-3 days early in most cases. HMV being the best place to pre order in my personal experiance. I've always got my pre orders friday/saturday so should have my set either the 9th or 10th of september.

Based on the 2004 DVD release, it's evidently needed.

Okay much appreciated dude, can't wait to have it!

...Even if the odd chance the picture quality may not live up to the recent elevated hope around here, I'm still thoroughly excited to have an excuse to watch them again, been a good year since I've seen them start to finish. Actually I watched the 2004 ANH a month ago, in anticipation, and despite the errors, to me they were ignored 5mins in, and that kiddy nostalgia kicked in of being a kid, with it's fantastical story. To me that's the paramount reason why I love these films, not the abundance of pristine colour timing or crushed blacks. While I may love them to be corrected, perspective wise I know what means the most.

So rewinding back a few posts...why do we want Luke's light sabre on the falcon to be white as opposed to green? I think it should be blue because it's Anikan's, but white doesn't make any sense (unless I'm missing something)

Look at the bottom right of the box. It says disc 8 is a single layer BD! WTF Lucasfilm! Why not use a dual layer BD and give us more special features?

Your missing the blue halo around the White core. Should have gone to Specsavers

What's specsavers ?

I guess my question is...if they are fixing the lightsabre, why give a super weak "blue-ish" halo around a totally white core. Ani's in Ep III doesn't look like it at all...it's very blue.

No one would have this answer, but not fixing it all the way doesn't make sense to me...that's all...

Can't wait for this set...I LOVE STAR WARS
