dvdmike,

"Select shots" were fixed. I know what everyone assumed from that article but go back to what was stated..."select shots".

Big difference.

Thumbs down The Cheese Stands Alone

Quick, check George's notebook on Original Visions for the correct lightsaber color people. It's right there people if you would ever bother to look.

Beast,

Indeed. Compare the DVD image of the Han/Jabba scene and look at the dark masses on the body with the Blu-Ray image of the Han/Jabba scene where you can actually see the detail where the damage is.

Yep.

But the shots they put out to sites do not match what is seen in the rips

The images posted from theforce.net obviously have some weird capture problems, look at the black bars of the blu-ray images - you can see a brightness problem. Then look at the more recent ones from the actual rips, and the brightness is normal/the same as it was before.

What I do not understand is .. why such a commotion on "possible" changes (or lack thereof in some cases it seems) .. before the movies are re-released?

We won't even know what is true/ faithfully reproduced / really in until the release in two weeks...

No different than the Luke Skywalker promotional shot was my point...

dvdmike,

cheebo86, over at the boards of theforce.net, has stated that the shots on the rip DO line up with what Lucasfilm showed in that article. Read around...

That specific shot was fixed.

Is it just me, perhaps its the pics but not seeing much of a diffrence (though I dont mind the spike tv versions). Still wondering if its the final quality hmmm. Sept 16 just cant get here fast enough. Bring on the lossless sound

The other nightmare I had (not trying to rehash anything) but in the scene where Han shoots first ( i know you know the one ) that to fix the scene they went all Tron Legacy and superimposed a young Harrison Fords face and reshot the scene

In a few weeks we should know the truth if these where indeed fixed.

I have a feeling that these rips are not the final product and may in fact be from an earlier build.

Why lie to the whole world and say they where fixed when they weren't.
That does not make sense.

I say reserve judgement UNTIL we have it in our hands.

Brightness can't turn a white saber magically blue.

He does. The saber that Mace Windu was carrying in The Phantom Menace wasn't his.

Also, that image isn't canon. As the yellow blades are not canon for the films. Plus the sabers never look exactly like that on film.
