Half-assed releases are what Netflix/Blockbuster were made for At this point the changes are practically bare-faced insults to the SE/prequel critics and I ain't paying for that.

Whoo hoo!

I finally have caught up with the end of this thread.

And I get to start all over again tomorrow.

Now, just maybe there is a 'silver lining' with this new BD version and all of the uproar that it has caused.

It may get Lucas to finally release the UOT in acceptable form to end all of this outrage that he has created.

Remember...there is always HOPE. Maybe 'A New Hope' if you will.

Not kidding, but that sounds awesome! I'd rather have that than the "NO!" change.

How could I get the special features and the other films without buying the whole set? That would be a neat trick. Am I to go to Ebay and pay someone more than what the whole set would cost me just so I could avoid one film that he ruined the ending of? I'm not that dumb. I'll have to deal with this version, mute the dumb ending, and wait for a fan edit or Lucas to return to his senses on this change in a few years, if that ever happens.

Watch on DVD? We're in a Blu-ray forum. The place to discuss Blu-rays. Or can I only discuss them if I'm happy with all the changes? I'll get this and a better version will come along eventually.

There's a version I prefer, even if I'm not a fan of all but one 1/3 of Jedi. The '83 version of Jedi is my favorite but I can deal with the '97 version and just forward through Jedi Rocks.

After knowing all this crap, I'm even more interested in reading Casey Broadwater's review. I remember reading that everyone would like to get a mixed review from many of the reviewers on this site. I am starting to like that idea myself too! An aggregate review would be appropriate, wouldn't it?

This thought also crossed my mind. They both say TPM is there favorite film, they both LOVE Jar Jar, and they both defend everything Lucas does no matter what. Their posts are also eerily similar.

The sad thing is that we're all been arguing about fixes we want to see and assuming GL would be doing little or nothing. We never even dared think that he would be taking things that should have been left alone (read: classic) and muck them up.

And yet he will get my $90....but this makes the idea of a Star Wars marathon depressing. To have it all end on Vader yelling "no" like a little boy....sigh....

Well, taking references from that movie is plausible when you are predicting the worst case scenario!
Also, it's one of those movies 'that is so bad it's good'.

Then what is with the screenshots that show otherwise?

We all knew he was gonna add/change stuff. As he loves doing it since se. So im sure next time its released he'll change more...he just loves tinkering with it. I don't like it but will still buy it to get 1080p.

I know stuff like the green hue annoys me and others but it could be that in the original print or whatever there was a slight green hue. I don't remember it being there on vhs but it coulda had something like it on a layer of the original effect or something(not buying it just trying to come with reasoning) and george likes it being there. If you notice there are certain special effects or errors that have not been changed but you never know with lucas..he could just like some of the mistakes or what he percieves as mistakes and not all of them...he likes some wierd stuff in these movies..lol

Thanks for the info adywan.

Quick question for ya.

So, they left in Vader's shuttle returning to his Super Duper Star Destroyer.

But...did they finally remove Moff Jerjerrod along with his stupid overdone worried look on his face from Empire???

That one has always bothered me, and that was one scene that seems like it would be an easy one to fix.

Why?!
That's what I'm pissed about - IF - everything that has leaked thus far turns out to be legit. Lightsabers / color timing issues, drowned out music - we were lead to believe that these issues have been addressed and corrected, but today, we're hearing/seeing otherwise. If Vader's "no" in ROTJ is also legit, then Lucas has really lost his sanity, not to mention the laughable new Obi "scream". I really hope that all of this is completely fake and not the real deal. The only glimmer of hope I have is, what was stated by members of Lucasfilm at the press event, and even that is quickly fading.
