Both these scenes are in the Star Wars Bluray rips, which you can find online.

I guess I'm not buying Star Wars on Blu-ray then.

Well as I already explained I was comparing the attempt to delete the UOT from history to book burning, not the actual actions of the Nazis. I put Nazi in there because they are the most recognisible book burners. Simple as that, and not hyperbole in my opinion.

I would stick money on it, that it's fake.
Three NEW HD rips appear online at the same time all with new alterations such as the rocks in Star Wars and the fixed arm of the Wampa in ESB (that has actually been used as an example of one of the actual fixes for the BD by the way) and the new Jabba's palace opening shot in Jedi.

Why would someone add the Dragon Cry and the "No!" to them? They are there in the rips along with the changes that WILL be on the BDs. And I'm pretty sure the discs have gone gold by now so ther's no going back. It will be in the films come Sep 12th/16th.

At least you guys will get confirmation a week before the US release considering it will be available in the UK first.

It's one thing to have bad effect shots but it's another to put out a huge press event and press release point blank saying they'd fix them then releasing a product where they left them almost entirely unfixed. Lucasfilm lied to the fanbase. Period.
Easy to fix, do not buy it!

You don't think it is at all wrong that Lucasfilm literally point blank LIED to everyone by promising to fix the sabers/garbage mattes and then not fixing them?

Someone posted a few pages back that there needs to be a book made out of this thread.

I think that needs to happen ASAP and it needs to be combined with the other various forums on this subject. Some of the comments have been EPIC across the net. I'm crying of laughter.

It'd be the greatest comedy book of all-time.

The article clearly states that they fixes were done on a "case by case" basis. Not totally. On a "case by case" basis.

Technically, they didn't lie.

I won't. But what about the people who dont frequent internet forums or go looking for pirate rips of BDs. They've heard in the press of all the nice fixes that have been made, and then they get a product that isn't what is advertised.

There's only so much you can defend this sort of behaviour without looking completely daft.

Case by case for them means fixing the sabers in one single frame in the scene and ignoring every other frame in the entire scene. Which ironically makes it even WORSE. Instead of being a ugly white-green saber color in the scene instead of the correct blue it now goes from white-green then jumps to a light blue for ONE FRAME then back to white green. Which overall takes you out of the scene even worse than the DVD's white-green color for the whole scene. It's almost like they did it on purpose. They knew it was a issue and only fixed the single frame they took a screencapture from. It...makes no sense.

Wrong.

In the scene at the start with the monkeys, some of the backgrounds are obviously just walls with pictures on them cause you can see the joins where the pictures match up. So hardly perfection.

(Please take note of my humour before getting angry with me. Obviously 2001 is a blooming great Blu-Ray).

The people who don't frequent forums and the Internet, unlike us don't do so because they have LIVES They don't care who shot first, what color are the lightsabers, that R2 is hidding behind a rock or that Vader is saying NOOOOOOOO in Return! Most of them will not even notice because they are nothing more then casual fans of Star Wars and not nut cases in need of serious therapy like the rest of us here in other forums

Seriously how can someone not have a problem with this:

Luke's saber is blue in Ben's hut.

It is magically white-green on the Falcon then for a single frame JUMPS to being light blue again (just so they could take that screen shot to claim in their press release they fixed it!) then JUMPS back to being white green for the rese of the scene.

Then the next movie is magically blue again..
