Because I don't have a problem with it, I am sorry its bothering you, it's too bad really but it doesn't bother me, is that alright?

I could tell you were being humoress without the addendum, don't worry.

In most cases. Not in the case of my 65 your old Dad, who is a big SW fan but is obviously not the sort to frequent the internet. And he sure as hell noticed Vader's girly sabre and Luke's green one when I showed him the 04 DVDs.

Honestly, people, this is really simple.

Don't buy this set if these new changes have upset you that much.

Listen, there's no rule in the code of cinema fandom that states that Lucas or any other filmmaker for that matter, has to release their films on the various formats over the years.

This is why I don't get the comments about being "done" with Lucasfilm and Star Wars over these latest set of changes. If you have a VHS copy, the laserdisc, the '97 Special Edition Widescreen VHS, or the '06 Limited Edition version of these films, why not just watch those and rock on for the rest of your days?

They suited you for a while. Why can't they suite you for the rest of your life?

It's all really simple. This set doesn't suite you? Go watch whatever copy you have that does. Again, it's not like these things aren't out there to get.

As someone who isn't bothered by it why do you think Lucasfilm more or less lied in their press release claiming they fixed it when they didn't?

It isn't just about the changes, that doesn't bother me. It is being lied to by Lucasfilm claiming they'd fix blatant visual errors when they didn't.

anyone who is considering not buying just because of probably 5 seconds worth of changes is really doing themselves a disservice ive just had the chance to have a quick look at the 1080p rips on a 120" screen and it looks amazing im not a fan of the vader/krayt (hell im the original guy who found the differences) but if you are a fan and you like quality then all other things aside they are going to be amazing, 6.1 sounds stunning too

I can't believe all the kvetching going on over "leaked" PIRATED COPIES. *Nobody* has an actual Blu-ray in hand yet the hysteria has gone beyond hyperbolical dimensions. It very well maybe true, but I'm going to wait until actual discs get legit actual reviews before passing judgement.
Keep up the good fight! Don't stop believing! I cant be true its a conspiracy against Lucas!

As someone mention, they said "fix certain elements" or something in that nature. I am not a lawyer and I don't know how these things work but it's debatable that they have lied or not? Personaly it does not matter to me. Luke lightsabers as always look pretty crappy from the days of VHS, I am use to it and it never bother me or take me out of the story as some others will claim it does. I understand you are angry because you feel they have lied to you, nothing I can do about it except say that I am sorry its turning out that way for you.

B..b..because the tech is available to see the Star Wars films in 1080p and lossless audio, and I want to give over some of my money for the experience? In this great capitalist society we live in, the general rule is that if a big enough group of people want to fork over their cash for a product, and the tech of today allows it's creation, that product will get made. But instead Lucas would rather just take a big shit in my face. Ah well.

It's pretty simple. I will be buying this set for the extras and the extras only. I won't ever watch this version of the movies. I'll be downloading the OT once people with real talent fix and "undo" the chaos caused by Lucasfilm.

He is releasing it on the latest tech available, he is making it available on Blu-ray. What you fail to say is "it's not the version you want but it's the version he want's". As the one releasing the product it's his right to release it the way he so wish it. As the customer it's your right not to buy it if you dislike what he is offering you.

It is kind of obvious now why Lucasfilm started with the Deleted scenes first at the press conference.
So that they can claim they don't have enough time to show the actual blu ray footage and show the fake mockups they made.

And I'm hoping for the people who are still buying this set that the audio issues in ANH were just conversion related issues from the rip or the whole Matt Wood section of the press conference was another falsehood. (i.e. effects drowning out the score)

Indy,

Why not just watch the '06 Limited Editions?

Oh that's right...you HAVE to watch these in HD.

Yes, you're right. That is why I'm not buying it. My point is that usually, money would facilitate getting the product I want. But not in this case, because Lucas is a ****ing book burning [1970s Chilean Junta brown shirt]

One of the screw ups during the 2004 release, I believe.
From the Jedi Council forums, metalinvader1982, about this release:
If you look towards the bottom of the picture you'll see a thin line of static. One of those blink and you'll miss it things,I guess.

Seriously, people complained about this? Yeah, it's annoying it's there, but I never noticed and I probably wouldn't notice even after being told this.

+1 Blink worked for me. He may have blinked more than I would've decided, but not gonna ruin my day.

Worst. Star Wars. Special Edition Change. Ever - YouTube

And did you notice that Luke's dialogue seems to be cut or muffled to make room. What a joke.
A.) What dialogue? It's just Luke screaming, not something plot revealing.

B.) I could still hear it under Vader's new dialogue.

C.) Someone said it may be from another, non Star Wars, movie but James Earl Jones recorded no for ROTS. George may've had him done several inflections and used some of the extra ones. If not, James Earl Jones came back to record Vader for the new Star Torus ride. There's plenty of opportunities for James Earl Jones to record a few "no"s. Say what you want about the new lines, but claiming it's not Jones may be taking it a little too far.

On the other hand, talking about or hoping for his death really crosses the line, don't you think? It's one thing as a fan to get upset or annoyed with some of his changes/decisions, but when movies drive you to the point of even mentioning or hoping for the guy's death, don't you think you've crossed the line? Maybe you're a little too invested in these movies when it drives you to that point. Maybe it's time to take a step back and realize that they're just good movies.

Some of us might ***** and moan about some of the changes and debate the films, but in the end, they're just movies and not life and death.

I hope he lives a long and healthy life and sees 100 years old or more. You should too.

Discussion of his death because of some movies?
Thank you. Agreed with you on all that.
