Look at the screen captures, the color was pulled on the outline of the saber. It was teal. Plus white is still WRONG. Luke doesn't have a white lightsaber!!

It's back to being pretty much pure white. Just like it was in '77.

Can't say this was unexpected... Can't Wait!
On my screen it's pretty much exactly the same. Other than the Blu-Ray image being widescreen and clearer.

The saber from that scene as far back as '77 has never been "Blue", like in Obi-Wan's hut or Promo images.

It was always pretty much pure white with a very very light smidge of what could be barely called blue on the edge.

Seriously? That's your explanation - some creative decision? Not that they screwed up the sabers in the colour correcting or anything and didn't bother to address them?

Please stop with the defending of awful changes that were clearly a side-effect and a result of shoddy colour correcting.

It's a lazy release and attempt to address the said problems they were boasting at being fixed for this release. No excuses really.

For the record, I do like the SE (before someone comes in and says I am a hater) but I can't sit by and read someone defend the screw ups as being creative decisions - and if you believe that, you probably will believe anything, like the screwed up rear channel audio in specific parts of ANH.

I'm not buying this set, and your comment doesn't make my comment any less valid. So your comment is completely pointless and you should stop posting the same pointless comment over and over again. ie, Pull your head out of your ass.

And who's to say that he doesn't want it to look that way in the scene. Given it's such an easy fix?

He wants it to randomly switch colors from white to light blue (for only one single frame) to light green to white and to light green again in the scene?

It has three different colors over the couse of that scene now. I could understand if it was consistently white, but it isn't. It shifts to blue for the single frame they took the screen shot from and shifts from white to light green throughout the rest of the scene.

Maybe the owner of Post #3 can keep track of the people 'not buying' any Star Wars on blu and see how many of them have it show up in their collection.

The only thing that creeps me out is the blinking eyes.

But.....

I did hear Vader saying no in the ROTJ clip and frankly that does not bother me it sounds like he is saying it to himself at first. As for the other nooo i think that might be faked as it sounds like how he said it in ROTS.

I see nothing wrong with this particular change i new that Lucas was going to do something with that scene.

It's a lightsaber that's sat in a box in Obi-Wan's hut for nearly 20 years.

Like I said, I can see that being the reason why Lucas didn't have the saber fixed for that scene.

And the subtle color shifts happen to all of the sabers in the OT. So that doesn't mean anything. But it's never "green green".

In Ken's defense, Lucasfilm pretty much spit out the same garbage on the "Pretending to Restore Star Wars in the HD Age" article so it still doesn't prove that he was lying. That hilarious article which is almost satire at this point, does prove that Lucasfilm was lying (or completely misrepresenting the limited amount of work that actually went into these things).

I guess you didn't read Mr. Lucas' notepad on the trilogy circa 1973. He writes in big crayon letters, "Laserswords would be sweet if they changed colors all the time... like a rainbow, like when Hulk get angry, like a mood ring, like a sunset sky... but nobody could ever do that effect... it would cost too much moneys."

Please. Just. Stop.

These explanations you seem to have for everything that people seem to question, where do you grab them from?
