Sorry but my comment is just as valid as your's, I am happy about the release and I am planning on getting it. You are not happy with it but I am not insulting you about it.

I could almost buy Beard's insane idea that sabers magically change colors if they aren't used for a while BUT ITS PERFECTLY BLUE LIKE IT ALWAYS WAS IN OBI-WAN'S HUT.

It's called common sense. And a 'No-Prize', much like Marvel gives away to those who explain plot inconsistancies.

And we already know that Lucas addressed a similar question in regard to Obi-Wan's Saber in ANH with the same answer.

That he added flares and glitches to Obi-Wan's saber for the last release to explain/deal with some of the issues caused by the rotoscoping issues and the screwy angle Alec Guiness holds the saber in one scene. And basically said it was due to both the saber's age and such.

LFL will no doubt ask WB permission to use the PR template they used after the LOTR debacle came out...

Just like a Flashlight with an old battery which has been sitting around.

It'll typically work great when you first turn it on, but not later if you turn it on again.

Lucas is a genius for reminding everyone what consuming morons we all are. No matter how much complaining Star Wars fans do, we will still eat everything that Lucas feeds us.

If you really want to rewatch these films in your home theater, here's your choice:

1. Dusty OT masterpieces: Laserdisc, Widescreen VHS, Letterboxed DVD versions
2. Polished PT & OT turds: Anamorphic DVD or blu-ray versions

Or if you really want to enjoy Lucas' masterpieces, you can always just watch them as (and ignore the prequel "video games" of course):
1. A New Hope: Laserdisc, Widescreen VHS, Letterboxed DVD versions
2. The Empire Strikes Back: blu-ray (supposedly with the least annoying changes)
3. The Return of the Jedi: Laserdisc, Widescreen VHS, Letterboxed DVD versions

But this is impossible because most home video buyers can't watch them like that because we are consuming completists.

And don't forget how future 3D HDTV companies (the next generation 3D HDTVs that won't need the glasses) will thank Lucas' upcoming 3D Star Wars blu-rays of converting more people to 3D.

Son of a *****... didn't notice that. Yup, page 275 goes over the change in detail. That's Matthew Wood and Dave Acord yelling for Ben Burtt, and then blended. Acord starts the scream and Wood ends it.

Ugh.

So lightsabers are like flash lights?

Stop buying these explanations from GL. You know, the same guy that at the end of Revenge of the Sith forgot to film Obi-Wan picking up Ani's lasersword until someone at ILM mentioned it. I'm assuming that ILMer was fired after that day.

I expect people were cancelling pre-orders with Amazon by the bucket-load and switching to Tesco. Hopefully a pricewar will erupt

The batteries have gone a bit flat, that's all. Plus, it has been sitting in a chest for 20 odd years at Obi Wan's house. There has probably been some battery leak if he didn't take them out before giving it to Luke.

Like I said, I can see that being the reason why Lucas didn't have the saber fixed for that scene.

And the subtle color shifts happen to all of the sabers in the OT. So that doesn't mean anything. But it's never "green green".

Beast, as any comic will tell you, it's rude to steal someone elses material and not credit it them for it, unless of course you weren't joking
