Man, cancelling my preorder was a total bum-out. On the bright side, the blu-ray expenditures for September are decreased significantly. Now i know i can buy X-Men: First Class and Thor.
Yeah I know all the Blu rays are about done pressing, I was stating maybe in a few yrs, I'm just gonna have to watch the 2004 DVD's the way they are, "Maybe" I'll purchase the Prequel in Blu Ray form, I'm just pissed off to no end right now " I can feel my anger "

mredman,

Actually, the changes are fine...except THE ONE...

The question remains, how much can I live with THE ONE....

If I watch these films in numerical order, by the time we get to THE ONE, I know I'll have forgotten about it. That's how deep I can get into Star Wars when I marathon them...

I agree with you and sorry. But he's tipping that balance man with each and every release.

Thumbs down

Ugh, I don't usually rage over movies but this is a travesty. Lucas is like a big dumb baby who'd rather break his favorite toy than let other people enjoy it. I've put my money where my mouth is and canceled my Original Trilogy pre-order.

If George is so concerned with everyone getting everything and it all being tied to everything, why not flash words over top the screen... because I just don't get it.

"Vader yelled NOOOO in Episode III" in big flashing letters.

I can't even get upset at this anymore...I just shake my head in disappointment now. I will keep this on pre-order as now I accept the reality that the OT will never be the same it was when I was a child. And it's truely unfortunate that these films could not be preserved as is in the time they were released.

You still wonder what's going through his mind. He still silently watches Luke screaming as the Emperor electrocutes and belittles Luke for some time. You still wonder what he's thinking before he utters the small "No", then lets out the big "NOOO!!!" as he picks up the Emperor (at which time you already know that Vader is saving Luke).

I agree the addition of the line doesn't add anything, but it doesn't take away anything either. If it was in there originally, everyone would still think it was a brilliant and moving scene.

Yeah brother, me too. I do hope sometime before i pass that someone with some sense gets put in charge of LFL and does the OT some justice. I seriously can't even fathom what the hell just happened in the last 24 hours. My most anticipated blu-ray is now my most hated. I'm getting this odd sense of deja vu. Like it was 2004 again or something.

The triangle of doom on the Wampa arm does not bother you either? Did they recomposit it on a 1977 television? Did they not realize that most tvs, monitors, and projectors in 2011 are square on the corners?

I heard you can now hear Vader whisper new dying words...

"Tell your sister, you were right...oh...Now THAT was pod-racing..."

Wink.

Oh the MILLIONS of pounds worth of free advertising this is generating. It wouldn't surprise me if this was a controlled leak. It is EVERYWHERE. Joe average public who don't live eat and sh1t star wars are going to be in no doubt about the fact that the movies are coming to blu ray by the morning. This will still be demo material regardless of the fans perceived flaws. This is going to sell MILLIONS on the first day. Watch the records tumble. GL must be on the floor by now crying with laughter as every major news organisation, DVD and movie site around the globe are talking star wars. Damn, he is a sly old dog

That's just about the best analogy of Lucas's insanity I've ever heard. Right on!

Ugh.

Why, Lucas Why!?

The films were perfect when first released, why keep 'fixing' them? I guess Lucas'
motto is "If it isn't broke - fix it till it is"

The scene was great without some cheesey "NOOOO!", and I agree that the NOOOO from RotS should have been removed (the scene would have been much better without it). At this point, Lucas needs to release the UOT on Blu so that we can watch the movies as they were originally viewed, and Lucas can go hog wild on 'his vision' without pissing people off.

No flashback, man. Someone would have said something by now.

Speaking of, someone many pages back mentioned some alteration to the "space slug" sequence in Empire, either the internal or external scenes, but I haven't heard anything else about it since.

I thought the same thing actually.

Considering most people won't care about the change and only be re-informed Star Wars is about to come out on Blu-ray. They will probably gain more in sales from the publicity than lose to fans boycotting it for sure.
