Has any man ever loved a woman as much as George Lucas hates Star Wars fans. I doubt it

Ive defended some of his changes. I love the removal of distracting matte lines, the Wampa, the expanded Cloud City, and few other things. Ill go as far to say I liked the good majority of changes made to the trilogy

I strongly defend a filmmakers right to revise older movies and create new versions however just as all colorizations or 3D conversions should always contain original black and white or 2D versions so should Star Wars. Some of the changes are flat out stupid. Greedo Shooting first, Hayden as the force ghost, and now the ridiculous Vader screaming Nooooo are just completely indefensible

Wait, hahaha, I haven't checked this thread (won't buy a set until the OT is included) in a while but I just saw some YouTube video with Vader's Nooo! in Jedi. Is this true or is it some ridiculous spoof? Ahahahaha, if that's how it's going to be this thing will be friggin' hilarious.

Idk if this was posted yet, but this is the actual BD clip of Vader's "No. NOOOO!!" It's not that bad since it's synced:

I doubt Lucas cares. He owns the movies he can and SHOULD do whatever he wants with them....you don't have to buy it, but 99% of those complaining and saying they wont will anyway.

None of which matters to me. I hated the prequels when I saw them in the theatres, and I still hate them now.

Wow, that took awhile to catch up. Lots of people coming out of the woodwork to express disappointment over the set.

I doubt these reports put any significant dent in the sales numbers. Lucas will get his and we'll do this dance in another few years.

Is this thread going to break the internet?

The complaining is all just a way to pass the time until the 16th

For me, anyways

My first instinct was spoof. I thought it was making fun of Vader's "No" from Revenge of the Sith and that Lucas would never do something that bad to such an iconic moment in his Saga. But it has been confirmed by Lucasfilm to be legitimate.

I wonder what crossed his mind to make that change. (Regarding the "Nooo")

Wellllllllllll, as usual, I sit somewhere in the middle on this.

I would have preferred that none of those changes were made, but the overreactions on the level of Lucas burning their house down and forcing himself on their mother is quite amusing.

On the other hand, it's even more amusing how the die-hard apologists are just giving a blanket "OMG IT'S AWESOME BEST THING EVER TEN THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!11" to this. I wonder how far Lucas could take this? Replace C-3PO with a Transformer? OMG best change ever! Director's intent! George Lucas! Replace blasters with knitting needles? OMG amazing! What a visionary! Make Luke Skywalker a vampire?! PERFECT! Just what this franchise always needed!

I have a hard time believing these people are even real, and not just trolls/cyborgs/Lucas employees or something.

Vader saying "NOOOOOO!" is 'awesome'? Hahaha. Oh laaaaawd.

Anyway I don't hate this new stuff enough to lose my mind over it like some obviously are, but the hardcore apologists are completely ridiculous in their capacity to just lap up literally every change George Lucas makes, as long as he approves it. It seems like he could just replace the whole movie with a romantic comedy set on Kashykk starring only Wookiees with no subtitles, and these people would still rant and rave about how it's the greatest change ever and really makes the whole "saga" come alive.

He could literally crap in a box and people would still buy it. Hold that... not just buy it, but laud it as the greatest achievement in cinema history and create 2000 IMDB accounts to rate it 10/10.

All the "NOOOOs" aside....
What really pisses me off is the fact that what they said they had fixed, they didn't.
I was expecting changes, as I'm sure many others were. But I was also expecting fixes...based on what they freaking said AND showed us as examples!

Honestly. Its hard to fathom that anyone could straight up lie like that, and it makes it hundreds of times worse when the lies are coming from a multi-billion dollar company who could have simply done what they said they already did!
