Anakin had a limited amount of space to jump, Obi-Wan was pretty much standing right next to a wall. Maul could've swung, I don't know what he was thinking was going to happen once Obi-Wan got behind him.

How did the Jedi Council and the old Sith armies come to be then?
And also, the only way he could free himself from Boba Fett on the Sail Barge was by having a blaster shot deflected.

I think after he jumped from halfway down a waterfall without seeing where he would land, Anakin could have jumped to the top of the wall. Of course if that were to have happened, the duel would gone on for another hour.

No, I actually hate Maul, I don't like him anywhere near as much as most people do. I am an Anakin apologist, the guy fell as far as you can go but saw the light in the end and redeemed himself by giving up his life to save his son and destroy Palpatine.

Gotta applaud Lucas for doing that.

Plus a great deal of his fortune goes towards advancing movie making technology.

As well as other endeavors. It's not like the guy is rolling around naked in a big pile of cash.

He only does that on Tuesdays before dinner, every other week.

I hate Maul also. But he serves an important story purpose.

He's just a pitbull or animal. It's clear when he's pacing behind the force fields, like a caged tiger. And it shows that Palpatine is a terrible teacher. Partially from the aspect that he doesn't want any of his apprentices to ever develop their own ambition for power. Or to even get as close to being as powerful as he is. Hence why Maul doesn't have Force Lightning. He learned from the lesson when he killed his own Master. So Maul is sorta the ideal minion for Sidious. Because he has no ambition for power, so will simply happily keep his subservient status. When he turned to manipulating and turning former Jedi like Dooku and Anakin, he got more powerful apprentices. But he also got ones that think for themselves and have ambitions for power.

Anakin was a member of the Jedi Council(albeit forced on there by Palpatine) and a fully trained Jedi Knight and he still did what the Emperor wanted for over 20 years before he killed him.

Yes, Beast's obsession with a naked George Lucas is quite unnerving.

Almost as disturbing as George Lucas' obsession with annihilation and limb severing.

Well...

Palpatine broke his spirit when he manipulated him to destroy everything he cared about. There was no reason for Anakin to do anything but be his servant. After all, if it hadn't been for Anakin's own actions (with a heavy dose of Palpy's manipulation) ... he wouldn't have caused Padme's death. Self Fulfilling Prophecy. It wasn't until he discovered that something of his old life, his love for Padme, was still alive in Luke. That awoke his ambition to overthrow Palpatine. Of course, then he simply wanted to take power. The whole, "Rule the Galaxy As Father and Son" thing. When Palpatine attempted to rob Vader of his son, it awoke his humanity.

Wow...this guy Beast thinks Lucas can do no wrong. He Beast got a little tip for ya, it was Kurtz not Lucas that was behind the greatness of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. It was Kurtz who was kicking his ass in everytime that idiot Lucas tried to F up his own film as he was making it.

Hats off to Kurtz for bringing us two great films. As you can see starting with Jedi the fanchise went to hell.....wtg Lucas.

Remind me, what did the self-righteous Kurtz do after or before SW? Exactly.

Never said that. I am not happy with every choice. But I am for the most part.

Sorry, I don't buy how much impact Kurtz had on the films.

Kurtz certainly didn't write the original treatment. And certainly didn't go on to greatness.

He certainly made 4 fantastic films without Mr. Kurtz. So I don't buy it.
If anything Kurtz is just a bitter old man who didn't get his way with things.

And hats off to George Lucas for delivering 6 great films. And many other non-SW films.

I certainly put every film in the saga above a New Hope. It's the weakest of the Saga.

Isn't that the movie filled with tons of silly puppets. And he whines about Return of the Jedi?

Gimme Jabba's Palace and the Ewoks over anything in Dark Crystal any day of the week.
