Gimme Jabba's Palace and the Ewoks over anything in Dark Crystal any day of the week.
Yeah he said something like Lucas copped out with the end of Jedi but come on, the entire movie Dark Crystal is far worse than anything in any of the SW saga.

You already had Empire end on a downer. It would have been stupid to end Jedi on a down note. Or with a forboding sense of dread. Especially when it was planned as the final film in the Saga. Leaving people hanging with a down ending would have silly. It's a fun space opera. It's not a J-Horror remake.

I wonder how much better the CG additions will look this time around.

They were updated from 1997 to 2004, so hopefully they get a big improvement this time around.

Specifically stuff like Jabba in A New Hope.

That's one scene they need to yank, it slows the movie down and takes away from the Hutt scenes in Episode VI.

The 2004 Jabba doesn't look that bad frankly.

The 1997 one was pretty terrible looking though. I'm glad they updated that for the DVD.

Awww. I like the Jabba scene in A New Hope. I'm glad it was finally restored.

My biggest problem with ANH is R5-D4. After he rolls forward and blows his Motivator... and C-3PO suggests that they take R2-D2 instead.... it cuts to a shot of R2-D2 watching them. And R5-D4 is clearly shown still sitting there for sale next to R2-D2 still. It just bugs the hell out of me. And I wish they'd paint him out.

Not to mention Luke calls it a R2 unit, so much for being a knowledgeable farmboy that tools around with technology a lot.

Is this the 97 one?

Because that is indeed pretty craptastic.

Here's the 2004 one:

I still think he looks bad. Not AS bad of course. Needs some fixing/updating.

After Empire was released in 1980 Lucas said this:

Quote:
I'm just going to keep it pure. It's a nine-part saga that has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It progresses over a period of about fifty or sixty years with about twenty years between trilogies, each trilogy taking about six or seven years.
Kurtz would have been involved with the planning at this stage so his "down ending" for Jedi would have set up the final trilogy.

He simply must not be as knowledgable or build droids like dear old Dad.

Or R2 Unit is simply a catch-all name for them. Since the R2 model is the most popular.

Or the real world explaination, they named the droid later for the action figure.

He lied about the amount of time it took for the PT. Anakin is 8 in the first movie and 21 in the last one, Padme is 14 in the first one and 27 in the last one.

Yeah, that's the '97 version. It really stands out like a sore thumb.

The '04 version looks better in motion. Plus has the correct number of fingers and Jabba's tattoo.
