There is only about 15 minutes missing and would have no problem getting those frames back. The whole no more original element argument has already been debunked along time ago so their is no reason to go back and revist that again.

What do you think the price will be at the stores on release day?

Officially, no. But let's not argue semantics.

You know as well as I do that people have a legitimate reason to "review" this set already.

AFAIK, I had heard that the American Film Institute has a mint copy of Star Wars (1977). The film negative is in their archives for preservation. And it was delivered to them long after 1997.

Especially when he just admitted to not having read back through the Countless links to other sites.

Or the links to Amazon, where people are reviewing a set that hasn't even been released as of yet.
How does the Amazon rating effect you? Why would you care? I love the LOTR EE and alot of people didn't because of the green tint, do I care? No. I will say that I was never a broken record like you.

Back on topic . Beast can link to a site to support his approval of the release as others have done the same many times. Mods are allowed to have an opinion . Usually when mods do enter into a discussion we excuse ourselves from moderating the thread....so we are good 2 go .

Shots at Katie Lucas' weight were tacky (and I'm not saying that was you, I don't remember who it was) but this is just plain funny.

It's such a fine line sometimes...

Quick question... The full screen versions of the DVDs that have the original versions of the OT have the 2004 versions in fullscreen correct? Or am I wrong and are they both fullscreen? If anyone can confirm this I'd appreciate it.

Also does the above box set really have the originals or no? (the 2008 box set)

I for one will still be buying these. I'm not going to let 1 line in a movie ruin the entire series for me.

What AFI may or may not have is a Technicolor print.

In 1995, Lucas and Fox restored Star Wars for the Special Edition. They cut Special Edition changes into the original negative. Still, 5 Technicolor prints (one of which Lucas owned in 1995) exist, and there are also the three-color separation masters. Both the separation masters, and then the Technicolor prints could be used to restore the theatrical presentation as it was in 1977.

I understand the Library of Congress also has a copy of some sort, I wonder if Lucas forced them to take the 1997 special editions (since the 2004 versions don't exist as prints), or if they have one of the Technicolor prints. I hear a collector has one, Lucas had one in 1995, and I think UCLA has another.

5. When Luke removes Vader's mask it will be Hayden Christensen's face digitally replacing Sebastian Shaw's.
6. Han Solo's dialogue is altered in ESB so that when Leia says "I love you." he answers "I deeply love you too."
7. Chewbacca speaks English
8. Grand Moff Tarkin hops into a refrigerator just before the first Death Star blows up and is saved from certain death because of the lead-lined interior of the fridge.
9. An alien toad burps during the Binary Sunset scene.
10. When Luke rejects Vader in ESB and falls Vader shouts "NOOOOOOO!"
I am headed to the theater NOW to line up for this!!!!!
