Just my opinion, not getting into the UTO vs revamps/ G.L. argument.

They probably haven't been shipped to most stores yet. Shipments usually come in the Tuesday before release, so the 6th or the 7th (Holiday on Monday may delay things) is when you should expect the copies to be in stockrooms. Right now, they are just in warehouses. Ugh, I used to work at a popular video chain and this is how it always was. We got the 04 Star Wars the week before release. I guess it may depend on the vendor. Not sure though.

The 1080p HDTV version is the same. Maybe they did need a new transfer after all.

So residents of the United States or anywhere other than the UK, are you importing, or are you getting the NA release?

Everyone is jumping the gun.
Well, that's what everyone said back in 2004 when the rips leaked for the DVDs - it's a fake, how do you know it's real, wait for the actual discs.

And that is what everyone said about the LOTR EE blu-rays, and now it's deja vu all over again.

Does anyone think we can expect an early review from this site? I think it's Fox that doesn't typically send releases out early for review and are therefore not typically reviewed until release day.

I want pristine audio/video on these (as I'm sure we all do)

Regarding Lucas saying that he always intended for Vader to say NOOO.
Did he say that it was always there but that we could not hear it or that he put it in for this release.

The reason i ask is i remember watching an interview with the director of The Exorcist ,and he said that when they made the transfer to blu-ray that you could hear all sorts of sounds that you couldn't before. He said that at that time all the sounds that they had could not be heard properly at that time but once they transferred to Blu you could hear all sorts of sounds that you didn't hear before.

I think it will have a good run on sales but I am still wondering how much it really will be? I am not expecting record breaking sales, due to price and too much negative talk about it. Sure a lot of people will never even know or notice about the changes, bt too many hardcore to middle ground fans know about it and they will make an impact on the sales I think.

Definitely not importing, although I like the UK disc art more than the North American version.

It would be sweet if Turkish Star Wars were to be included.

I'm sorry but that Krayt Dragon call has to be a BIG fake. It sounds like someone getting a BJ in the backseat of a car. It is so unserious sounding that it couldn't possibly be real.

To be fair, I say it's all bull that is was ever there I like Lucas but he does make things up as he goes along in order to fit what is happening. The way I see him now, it's someone who seem to truly believe all the lies he is saying, you know when you say something for so long and keep saying it, after a while to actually think it was always the truth

I'm going to tell myself this when I watch that scene whether it's true or not so I can not get so frustrated over this release. It's not a lie if I believe it!

I am still getting this. I am one of the those that would love the unaltered original trilogy and have accepted that and cherish my laserdiscs. I'll say it again, but these new changes are in my mind a distraction of sorts were all the UOT fans can now switch there screaming from we want the UOT to we want the Special Editions of 2002...

I feel like 3PO with these changes when I say,
Here we go again...

I am wondering if I'll import the UK version as I like the discs and the sleeves. I don't mind the Alien box set, as I'm not pulling the discs out every single day. I'm on the fence here.

This exact sound was published in an official Sounds of Star Wars book a year ago (yesterday was the anniversary of the book actually). Whenever someone brought up it for the past 6 months, no one cared. Now everyone is surprised and thinks it's fake.

What? When did Lucas say that? If he always intended for Darth to yell "no," then he had two more chances - theatrically in 1997 and the DVDs in 2004. I can guarantee you what happened was he liked his "no" scene so much at the end of Episode 3, that he just now decided to tack it on in RotJ.
