I very much dislike the poster - beyond character discrepancies, it's also just too friggin busy.

It's a common style of poster art with lots of air brushing and somewhat realistic images without being photorealism (dot by dot). I'm not keen on it -- it reminds me way to much of the 1970s that I was happy to leave behind. Some nice photos or digital graphics would have been great, or maybe even some early sketches/storyboards from one of the movies. The options were endless, but he chose something that looks like what I might have put up in my school locker in 1980

Yes, he's in Episode III along with his daughter:

I can understand "some" of the changes, but the fact that they didn't even bother to fix the FRICKIN horrible colors in the trilogy just blows my mind.

Anakin and Padmé's faces are noticeably wide, Luke reminds me of the wife in the TV's "Married with Children" series , and apart from the distractingly disturbing look on here face , Leia reminds me a bit of Penny Marshall from the 1970s "Laverne & Shirley" TV show, but recast as a horror movie

The rest of them look as if they've lined up for a school class photo and smiled on cue.

Hard to say at this point, but it's quite possible that as bad as these new changes are, they will be dramatically worse on the original trilogy release for 3D as the gimmicky CGI stuff and changes will probably increase 10 fold.

I'm just waiting for the release where the Yoda puppet is replaced in Empire and Jedi. You know it's coming at some point.

Possible, considering that a Skywalker Sound employee said "Every time we watch the movies he's got something he wants to change," so it's gonna go on, and on, and on ...

I'm not one to normally complain about stuff but some of those new changes are just odd. The Obi-wan sound when he's scaring away the sand people just sounds plain stupid. The blinking of the ewoks eyes kind of freaked me out a little bit. It looked like bad CGI to me.

Somebody should prevent him from watching them.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

If/when it does, that will probably be the release I skip.

I don't know the thing about digital yoda and puppet yoda is that, puppet yoda interacts with real objects and people (luke), whereas digital yoda doesn't interact with any real objects or people. I'd say its not likely, because it would require a lot more work and because they already put in the effort to make digital yoda look like the puppet.

Here are some more screencaps taken directly from the Star Wars blu-ray posted up by Dark_zero on AVS. Everything just looks so blue...

Rob Coleman of ILM said during the production of Episode III that he wouldn't allow Lucas to do it and that Lucas doesn't want to replace Yoda in the Original Trilogy anyway. If he did, he would've done with this release.

Move on from this fear. Oz wanted Yoda to be digital in the first place when the Prequels started. Lucas said no because he felt that they didn't have the tech in place to do it during Episode I. Oz was reluctant to do the puppet during production.

I agree with you that Yoda will eventually be replaced in the OT. It is just a matter of time and that just sucks.

What will be interesting is if he does make the OT in 3D, will LucasFilm go back and do new masters? I am betting yes they might have to. That might be when we see a REALLY good version of the films come out. Of course that depends on IF he ever gets to make the OT in 3D.
