Yeah, Anakin's portrayal in the prequels did seem to divide people in regards to his likability. I think that the Clone Wars series has done an excellent job in fleshing out his character due to just having the time to do so, and it seems that based on what I've read online, people have found that version of him much more appealing overall as well.

I've always thought that in an ideal version of the prequels, the TPM would never have existed (for obvious reasons), AOTC could have been the "Episode 1" with a bright-eyed padawan Anakin, "Episode 2" could have shown the midst of the Clone Wars and how war would change and harden a young Anakin, and then "Episode 3" could have been ROTS.

So I suppose that by admitting that, it concedes partially to what you are saying, but I am still content with what we have overall, because well, my inner-child still likes the movies.
Your saying the whole connection between Jedi in sense of the "disturbance" in the force was not enough?

Seriously this is a great idea.

The Clone Wars is a (mostly) excellent animated series that does most of the story work that the prequels, especially episodes I and II, failed to do properly. I tell people who hate the prequels that The Clone Wars is the lemonade made from the lemons that were the prequels. I feel bad for any Star Wars fan who is so lapsed they can't see past their prequel hatred to enjoy Clone Wars, because it is often awesome stuff.

I refer you to this post. It's from a series 10 years ago

Okay I have said this four times or so, but they should have done the story about the droids, and not given the task of writing the prequels to someone that was involved with the originals, and was very bitter about the entire thing. They had already agreed to make the droid movie back in the early 80's.

I have only seen 3 episodes of The Clone Wars so far but I picked up season 1+2 on blu-ray the other day. 25 bucks each season seemed to be a good price

Hi

I'm from Switzerland and because we are speaking German too we will also get the German/Spain Set.

The thing is that most Germans only watch the movies in German Language and do not care about the original.
I also watch most Movies in German Language.
The DVD suffered from a lot of Audio Problems on the German Tracks (lisp, missing Dialogues.....). The reaction of People over the years was intense. So Fox along with Lucasfilm decided to give the German Audio the Premium Treatment this Time because unlike other Countries its so important to have a pristine German Track. Especially after the DVD Problems and the bad publicity caused by that.

But they should have made a single German/English Edition for Germany with both tracks in HD.
It's not ok that other Countries such as Spain have to go without the English HD Audio. That's for sure.
They are going the cheap way because it's considered to expensive to produce a Blu Ray Set specifically for 1 Country.

I am really excited that we have German HD Audio.
But it's a shame that they did what i mentioned above.

The original Star Trek movies still exist and are still being produced. The original Star Wars are not.

Pegg FTW, I'm just happy he's willing to speak his mind about a Lucas product and not suck up like Kevin "Sycophant" Smith, hoping to get his hands on some Star Wars IMDB credentials.
Hayden was born in 81 actually

We hope that this issue is presented only in the "original" (If Lucas keeps changing things, nothing will be left from the movies releases from 1977 to 1983) trilogy or in all 6 movies. Anyway, this is totally unacceptable and we don´t get why LucaFilm and Fox are stealing us the DTS HD audio track for the English version but they do included and HD track... for the German track!

Do you believe that? Can you possible imagine the reaction of the fans if Fox release these movies (or whatever movies) in the US with a lossy track???

So does anyone have any e-mail address of LucasFilm? I´ve chacked their website but I didn´t find any link and I would like to write them about this issue.

Thanks so much for your help.
That's one of the reasons I only import U.S. BDs. I did the same thing with DVD back then.

They are nuts!!!

Sorry to hear that, but as someone above mentioned, u can still get the U.K version, or import the U.S. edition, as they are confirmed to be region free.

Enjoy SW in glorious lossless audio in English!

I am surprise by the new voting, from what I was hearing last week, I was expecting the "I won't buy it" to be much higher.

How do you explain your false statement that "It was never about vader until he became his cash cow. I remember Lucas stated that it was about Luke Starkiller. Yes Starkiller was his name at first. He changed it when vader became popular."? How did Vader became popular way before the movie was released?

I used to live in Germany for 13 months, and I WISH we could get the German language tracks on the U.S. Blus and DVDs. The only Blu I have that has those German language tracks are Das Boot, and the occasional German speech in the Indiana Jones movies.

"Die Amerikaner! Die kampfen wie Weiber!" - Raiders of the Lost Ark

LOL

It would be cool to watch SW in German for me! Krieg der Sterne!!!

I like the packaging. Hopefully someone provides hi-res scans so those of us who want the Saga can print covers. I'd rather shelve them like that.

Anthony Daniels will be signing copies of the SW Blus in Stratford England soon:

Visit http://hmv.com/hmvweb/home.do to start your journey to Stratford. Alas, not the Stratford of the Bard. But I'm sure he would have penned a sonnet on't.
