Not aware of the actual BD being leaked??? Aren't these just HDTV version screenshots. I could be wrong, don't do the Jack Sparrow thing myself.

Weren't you the same guy that last month tried to argue Vader's saber wasn't wrong in the 2004 DVD, even though it was pink in scenes that had it red in 1997 and prior?

Why not post a polaroid of a so-called still from the technicolor print showing the saber in green? That will really "win" the argument.

Like I said, if the 3D version somehow turns Luke's saber yellow, you'll be on here using the Kenner action figure from the late '70's as proof that it was meant to be yellow.

The saber you keep posting was never green in the films, not theatrically, on VHS, or LD. Only the 2004 DVD which most everyone, other than you, accepts as having created problems with colors in scenes that didn't exhibit problems prior. Using footage from an old documentary as proof that it was ever green is laughable. It wasn't even green in my old '82 VHS or the Faces LD sets from the 90's. Not to mention in my laughably excessive theatrical viewings.

Just like last month, no amount of posts, old documentary stills, or last word-itis will change the truth.

Oh Danny boy, reality, reality is calling...

You obviously need to do more research mate.
Star Wars was broadcast in 1982,84,86 and 88' here in the UK.
This was the version with the mono mix---the same version that was used as a source for clips in the 1977 documentary.

And low and behold---just as the film cuts from Alderaan being blown up to "training onboard the falcon" .

What colour is Luke's saber?

And a comparison with the 1977 documentary(on the left):

See the resembalance?

Learn to enjoy the 2004 DVD mate.

I watched the TPM BD a few days ago, posted my thoughts, what, 100 pages back now , but yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the TPM transfer either. Live elements in some scenes are very soft, while the CGI detail is excellent, and it just doesn't blend together very well.

"He's no match for the emperor" but in 20 years, he yells "no........noooooooo" picks him up and throws him down a shaft? Why can't the emperor force jump if he is so powerful? Why doesn't the emperor have a light saber around? He can "zap" vader, but he can't pick him up with "the force" and throw him down the shaft?

See you can't try to nitpick these movies, it would never stop.

merlinpants,

I hope it's not the Blu Ray image, but the HD broadcast because it's not good.

There's a stark contrast from the Yoda and Mace image compared to the rest of them. The Yoda and Mace screencap looks damn excellent.

The others look like upconverted DVD with a bit more detail. If this is the real leak, what the hell happened?

The best shot for detail is the one of Portman alone, there is HD detail in the hair.
Look at Mace's face the the edges on Yoda, that is DNR

You see anger, I see serious. And they're droids. Droids aren't human.
Hell, you'll notice that only Anakin and Luke ever treat droids as anything more than tools.
Quote:
Episode III: If the Jedi can feel changes in the Force, how come they don’t know that Palpatine is the Sith Lord?
Explained right in the film. The Dark Side clouds everything. See Yoda's dialogue in AotC and RotS.
Also it should be noted that up until RotS, it's not like Palpatine was actively using his powers.
Quote:
Episode III: Why does Darth swear his allegiance to the Emperor even after Padame dies? The biggest reason for turning to the dark side was to save her life.
Nothing more to live for and no going back. He's turned against everything he ever believed in.
Quote:
Episode III: In an early scene, the Sith Lord already looks like he has the effects of the electrical charges that deform his face later in the film.
Where at? Cause while he looked pale and gaunt in AotC, he wasn't deformed.
Quote:
Episode III and later: If Chewbacca works with Yoda to fight the Empire, how come this role is never mentioned in Episodes IV-VI? If Obi Wan knows Chewbacca from 20 years before (although Chewbacca only meets with Yoda in the film), does this mean that Chewbacca is hiding his role in the battles from Han?
Because it's not important to the story of the OT. Much like it's not necessary for Obi-Wan or Yoda to mention characters like Qui-Gon who are dead and not capable of helping Luke with his training. And it's not like Chewbacca speaks english/basic. His role was as Han Solo's sidekick. And Obi-Wan and Chewbacca don't know each other prior to meeting in the Cantina. It doesn't really matter if he fought in RotS.
Quote:
Episode IV: What purpose does Obi Wan’s “suicide” serve? He doesn’t become “more powerful” as he tells Darth Vader he would be.
Retaining his identity after death and being able to manifest in the force isn't more powerful?
Quote:
Episode IV: Vader tells Obi Wan, “You shouldn’t have come”. Why doesn’t he say, “where have you been for the last 20 years” or “I’m going to kill you for almost burning me to death”?
Seriously? For one, that would have been terrible dialogue. Also it's pretty clear from Vader's dialogue that he would have been satisfied if Obi-Wan remained living in disgrace. And wasn't actively seeking him out. But Obi-Wan actually came to him, and now he was going to die.
Quote:
Episode IV: What is Darth Vader’s motivation for his actions? It’s never expressed. It can’t be to oppose the Jedi or Obi Wan because Obi Wan has been in hiding for at least 20 years and there are no other Jedi, except for Yoda, who isn’t mentioned in Ep IV. Is it to bring order to the Empire? But the only disorder is a small band of rebels. Why does this small band of rebels require the construction of the Death Star?
Vader has no motivation after he loses his humanity and basically everything else at the end of RotS.
He's little more than the Emperor's "Agent of Evil", enforcing his will on the Empire.
Quote:
Episode IV: How does Obi Wan Kenobi know that Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker? Same for Yoda in Ep V. At the end of Ep III, he thinks Anakin is dead.
Because he's facing Darth Vader, the same name Palpatine knighted Anakin Skywalker as.
Quote:
Episode V and VI: In Ep V, Yoda insists that Luke not help his friends, but complete his Jedi training instead. Yet when Luke returns in Ep VI to complete his training, Yoda tells him that his training is complete.
Yoda was dying. And Luke had undergone a trial by fire and survived.
Quote:
Episode VI: Chewbacca tells the blind Han Solo that Luke is now a Jedi Knight. But later in the episode, Yoda first informs Luke that he is a Jedi.
Chewbacca isn't a Jedi himself. So why would he know the nature of how the decide who becomes a Jedi Knight or Master?
Quote:
Episode VI: Leia tells Luke she remembers her mother, but in episode III, Padame dies in childbirth.
Yoda: "Through the force, things you will see. Other places. The future, the past, old friends long gone."
Leia is Anakin's daughter. So is conceivable as powerful as he is in The Force.
Leia was also shown to be strong enough to resist Mind Probing on the Death Star.
Also note that all Leia remembers is images and feelings. So it's likely this is thru the Force.
Since it's much like what Anakin sees through the force of Padme's eventual death.
Plus Leia as a force sensitive infant may have also picked these things up while in the womb.
Quote:
It also didn't make sense to me that Anakin was always such an unwilling pupil of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, but such a willing pupil of Palpatine. And there are tons more.
Palpatine was his buddy and stroked his ego. He was the one that Anakin felt he could confide in. Such as what he did to the Tusken Raiders.

Or, they could have been about the early years of Han Solo, but that really wouldn't have been a prequel to the OT story arc.

And the videos you posted prove nothing. Actually, it's an improvement because it covers up a big plot hole in the ORIGINAL. In the original, the emperor mentions "Luke Skywalker" and Vader has no reaction. Why doesn't he say, "yes, I know...he's my son" or why doesn't the Emperor already know this? The only rationale might be that "Skywalker" is a very common name, like Smith or Jones or Patel, in that galaxy. That's the reason Luke's name was taken out, not because the complete story arc is now about Anakin/Vader.

Many people are complaining that Lucas has changed the OT to make it better match the PQ. I barely see that at all (aside from adding Hayden to the end of ROTJ). I was always shocked by the inconsistencies in the OT and the PT that could have been better written around in the PT, although some would have been difficult.

Here are just a few which always bothered me. I'm sure the Star Wars geeks can find a ton more:
Episode III: If anger and fear leads to the dark side, why does Yoda look so angry in each of his “fights”? Why does Obi Wan smile when he kills all the droids in the elevator?

Anger in different ways. You be in a fight and not be angry or look angry. As for Obi they are droids not human not alien.

Episode III: If the Jedi can feel changes in the Force, how come they don’t know that Palpatine is the Sith Lord?

As far as I remember he didn't manipulate the force in any way to give away the fact that he was a sith lord.

Episode III: Why does Darth swear his allegiance to the Emperor even after Padame dies? The biggest reason for turning to the dark side was to save her life.

As much as he may not like it the Emperor still saved his life. If it wasn't for the Emperor Anikan would have been dead as well.

Episode III: In an early scene, the Sith Lord already looks like he has the effects of the electrical charges that deform his face later in the film.

Either that or Han knows and just blows it off as that is in the past.

Episode IV: What purpose does Obi Wan’s “suicide” serve? He doesn’t become “more powerful” as he tells Darth Vader he would be.

Yes he does. With Vader striking him down he becomes one with the Force and helps Luke out along the way. If it wasn't for Obi communicating with Luke through the force he would have been dead or screwed up multiple times. Obi sensed that Luke was the last hope that the unlivers had and decided to give his guidance to him.

Episode IV: Vader tells Obi Wan, “You shouldn’t have come”. Why doesn’t he say, “where have you been for the last 20 years” or “I’m going to kill you for almost burning me to death”?

Episode IV: What is Darth Vader’s motivation for his actions? It’s never expressed. It can’t be to oppose the Jedi or Obi Wan because Obi Wan has been in hiding for at least 20 years and there are no other Jedi, except for Yoda, who isn’t mentioned in Ep IV. Is it to bring order to the Empire? But the only disorder is a small band of rebels. Why does this small band of rebels require the construction of the Death Star?

He doesn't need motivation he is just following his orders from the Emperor. There were rebels across the universe and the Death Star was meant to bring complete order with the Empire as the commanding force once and for all.

Episode IV: How does Obi Wan Kenobi know that Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker? Same for Yoda in Ep V. At the end of Ep III, he thinks Anakin is dead.

I'm sure they could sense the fact that it was Anakin. After all Obi did work with him quite extensively.

Episode V and VI: In Ep V, Yoda insists that Luke not help his friends, but complete his Jedi training instead. Yet when Luke returns in Ep VI to complete his training, Yoda tells him that his training is complete.

Obviously you missed the point here through his actions in V he completed his training.

Episode VI: Chewbacca tells the blind Han Solo that Luke is now a Jedi Knight. But later in the episode, Yoda first informs Luke that he is a Jedi.

Chewy worked with the Jedis before and was probably just going off of what he remembered their power being and what Lukes power has reached.

Episode VI: Leia tells Luke she remembers her mother, but in episode III, Padame dies in childbirth.

Leia was placed in the care of another family the mother she remembers is from that family not Padme.

It also didn't make sense to me that Anakin was always such an unwilling pupil of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, but such a willing pupil of Palpatine. And there are tons more.

Palpatine promised to show Anakin how to save Padme that is why he did that.
Answered a few of those questions for you.
