Well, the interesting thing about that Qui-Gon screencap is that it's got a lot of motion blur in it because the next two frames, he turns his head. That cap was taken as he's about to begin his motion...it's almost in mid-motion.

Ah well! We shall miss you in this thread!

chip75,
Thank you very much for taking the time to type up and post the list of contents of the three "Extras" discs in the set. For myself, it's greatly appreciated. Others may have seen that list before, but I hadn't; and I did ask about it (it feels like about 643 pages back ... ) and never got a reply. So thanks, mate.

I find I'm inclining to an option that doesn't appear in the newly revised poll: buying both trilogies, but in their two trilogy-only packs. There are a couple of reasons for this; firstly, I don't think I care about the extras very much (and I have the previous-but-one DVD set, and all the extras on that will basically talk about much the same things); and secondly, I really prefer the artwork on the trilogy packaging over the artwork of the complete saga set.

I like the movies, and I want them on Blu-ray; I just don't much care about all the marketing guff. And I find the documentaries only really serve to remind me of George Lucas' blinkered "vision" and numbskulled revisionism, even to the extent of what he once did or didn't say. I couldn't be bothered with all that.

I've just looked at it again right now actually, just for comparisons sake... yep, nope it looks nothing like that. Anybody who knows my rants against DNR in the past will know I'm telling the truth. So that's that nonsense disbanded.

The close up on Portman is actually pretty solid. Could've been better, I think but I think it's solid. There's detail in her hair...

Oh, "the truth"... And what truth is that, may I ask? The truth that you make false statements and call plot holes where there are none? Or the excessive use of ad hominem? Or both?

Anyway, I won't feed trolls anymore.

crs,

Based on the mf.com link I just posted with different screencaps, your assessment of the Episode I transfer seems to be on point because from screencap to screencap, the look varies.

Some are pretty damn great. Others are just okay.

As you said, it's inconsistent.

The Phantom Menace was always the one that look the worst to me when watching it on DVD compared to the other 5 movies. I sort of expected it to maybe look less interesting as the other 5 even on Blu-ray. But that is me

Besides getting rid of the "Mr. Crazy-Looking Yoda" puppet, which was a great move, the PQ difference between the DVD and Blu-ray looks to be STAGGERING in that Windu/Yoda shot. I can't wait!
