How far do you sit back from the TV?

Sorry, my fault, been fiddling with the language settings to answer other questions. They came back when i went back to the main menu and reset english.

Jabba still looks terrible though.

At that distance, DVD may look good enough upconverted.
To see if there are PQ issues, you need to be sitting at about 5-7ft away.

I couldn't wait for the uproar over this and the discussion of what it means

Ah, fear not, I have been sitting about 4 foot away when reviewing picture quality. As I am answering peoples posts, i am on the other side of the room. I was actually on top of the screen when comparing the wax qui-gonn picture to the actual blu footage. It is nothing like the picture.

Wouldn't recommend that distance for extended viewing though, I would be deaf by now LOL

Default Staw Wars blu-ray seen in stores already!!

A Walmart in Mexico has already started to sell copies!!

http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/s...ase_140458.asp

So all of you who have not pre-ordered should start looking in your area just in case.

Thanks Mav. So that confirms that the disk art is the same in the trilogy packs as the complete saga, at least in the UK. (Makes sense.)

Merlinpants, thanks for the help. While watching the Greedo/solo scene did you notice if subtitles were used for Greedo?

Is there a site or page that lists all this information? I'm pre-ordered through Amazon. I doubt I'd cancel it, but I'm curious. I know I'm glad I got my Indiana Jones trilogy DVD at Best Buy, but at least they gave you an exclusive DVD!
Yeah it would be cool if there was a seperate page with all the different exclusives that are starting to pop up.

In Canada at Futureshop..here's what's going on:

They are offering the 9 disc complete saga (blu-ray) for 79.99 (Sep 16 - Sep 19)

They are opening at 8 am on Sep 16.
The first 5 people to buy the complete saga will get a free mini lightsabre.
There will be (apparantly) be contests to enter for other items.

There is an exclusive offer...anyone who buys the complete saga gets a set of free lithographs.

Yes they were, and for Jabba just after as well.

They were white, with no border or background (ie not burned in, they changed with the language selected) in the middle bottom of the screen

When Alderaan blows, there are two clear explosions, pushing against the praxis effect twice. Is that new? The wave starts slow and then speeds up with the second blast.

LOL, i probably started those earlier. With all of the fiddling with language settings they disappeared. I had to go back to the main menu to reset the languages to bring them back.

I wanted to ask a question I was looking at Amazon early this morning and I could not understand how a new release got so many bad reviews..

SO I wanted to ask here what's wrong with the box set?

I forgot to add that even at the distance i am currently at an upconverted DVD looks no where near the quality of this. Not even close.
