I was going to still get the prequels, but after a couple days of mulling over the dnr done to Episode I, I'm not really too sure - I'm going to think about it some more. Definitely not getting the OT, though. I'm okay now with George continuing to tinker; but I'm not supporting it anymore.

good to hear...I'm keeping my DVD box...I usually get rid of the DVD if I get the BD

ATOTC was not shot in full 1920x1080p, it was actually 1440x1080p.
Just putting the word out.

I will agree on this. Sure, it doesn't have that extra flavor of retrospect and sometimes even brutal honesty that comes from a good commentary. But the interviews should be interesting nonetheless.

Commentaries are something I love, but I rarely listen to them anymore. I tend to gravitate to the commentaries on films by the likes of Sam Raimi and Joe Dante, because they are both fun and informative, and not dry conversations like "this is the scene where the characters does this." Instead you will get "well, an interesting story happened on set while we shot this scene." Plus, you get the participants all together in the same room and not recorded separate.

I honestly didn't like most of those commentaries for the Star Wars DVDs. Kind of dry information handed down with little enthusiasm. The most lively of the bunch were Carrie Fisher and Irvin Kirshner. Ben Burtt was quite enthusiastic. Perhaps too enthusiastic. Whenever I wanted to hear about the production of a certain scene or its progression in terms of scripting, you get "this sound effect was made by....." Interesting stuff, but its better on a specific featurette. You don't need a laundry list of how sound effects were created. (Though I do wish there were more commentaries related specifically to the creation of old school special effects, which often required ingenuity in the pre-CGI days)

Seriously though, is there a particular page I should go to other than the first page which details George's latest efforts to increase his fan base.

So far I'm aware of the Nooooooooooo, CGI Yoda, blinking ewoks, and the Krayt Dragon call. Anything else??

Still don't get why in hell they didn't include the original uncut Theatrical releases which would have made everyone happy. The Complete Saga?? Dumbasses ....
Everyone talks about the "noooooooo", but they don't say what got left out in that scene. Luke is writhing in pain and looks over at Darth and says, "Father please......" It is gone to fit in NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

No it is not gone. It's still there.

I'm still shocked that so many people can think that screenshots are 100% representative of their BD counterparts. They're not. They give you a very close idea of what to expect but you really need to listen to folks that actually have viewed the BD's at home on their HDTV's not computer screens. Not rips. Not caps. I bought the LOTR set and watched FOTR and saw no green tint and I looked for it. How could I not after all the crap online. I cancelled my Saga set . I have all the versions I need of those films.

No it's not. If you're judging by the clip online, you need to rewatch the movie.

The clip online picks up right AFTER that plee from Luke. It hasn't been removed at all. Don't feed the false info.

Are you serious? That was probably the most important part of that scene. Where did you hear it had been cut?

And IIRC, those 2004 commentaries didn't discuss any of the 2004 changes.

I cancelled my preorder, but not because of the dialogue changes or the "color timing," and not even because of the lack of UOT availability. I cancelled mine because of a screen cap of the blu-ray specs card on the back of the complete saga set - as the font is slightly different than I remember. Because, when I saw them in the theaters, the font used on the posters was slightly different, and now I just don't think I can enjoy these films knowing they are using a different font! Everytime I pull out the set, I'll see that fon't and know things just aren't the same. Dang you, George Lucas! Changing that font ruined my childhood memories!!

LOL

I actually just cancelled my Amazon pre-order because I want the lithographs from Target.

They did. In fact, Lucas even talks about the change of Anakin's Ghost in the commentary.

I did the same thing today as well. For the same price I might as well either buy it at Target and get the 8 lithographs or buy it at Best Buy and get the Vader shirt.

Doesn't Amazon give you the lowest price even if you pre-ordered at $89.99?

I forget what all he says. I know I have quoted it somewhere on here. Something about it partly a reward.

But one part was that Obi-Wan and Yoda actually help Anakin manifest in the force.

Which is why he fades in less smooth than they do when he manifests. I may have to pull out the DVDs and repost it.

I saw a couple commercials for the box set during the NFL games today and that 'Own Every Moment' tagline is really aggravating.

All things considered.

It should say, "Own Every Moment...and a couple more"

I thought the exact same thing. I'm waiting until the reviews come out. Been waiting so long that an extra week won't make a difference.
