Before I bought my current TV, I looked into different sizes. I settled on a 46" and sit about 6 to 6.5 feet away (used to be closer, but I moved and putting the couch any closer than this in a big room looks too ridiculous). When I was doing my research, some people suggested that a 50" could theoretically put you about 8 feet away while seeing all the details in 1080p. The finer points of this have to do with personal preference. One thing I've learned is that I prefer a bigger screen and I prefer to sit a little closer - that being said, the best rule of thumb is that you should be able to easily see the entire image (which I can't if I sit as close as I like) and you should be comfortable. If you're watching Star Wars on a screen with a projector, I'd imagine that if you sit too close, you start to see some pixellation. But I could say the same thing about my own current TV and I can and will say the same thing about SD content. It's just the way that it works. I don't understand why people think 1080p isn't good enough for a projector in a home - theaters here in Canada use it to stream live concerts, wrestling, and other events all the time. It doesn't look amazing, but it looks a heckuva lot better than sitting at home. |

Someone more knowledgeable about the prequels may know for sure, but almost every shot has CG and I doubt they bothered doing the visual effects outside the 2.35:1 frame. At least I've never seen any kind of open matte version. Nor would I want to. Star Wars = scope.

Well, it's good to know this is not just happening to me. It used to say it was unavailable until I called earlier this morning. Now it says it's available on the product page, but when I go to check out, it says it's unavailable again!! I hope this is fixed soon!

The E-Mail I got says other wise. It's asking me to call them because it's not really available. I'm gonna call and put up a fuss. Since this is honestly silly. It said it was available. So they can try to satisfy me. |

The only time it says Unavailable is if they don't have information on how many copies they're getting. Or they Pre-Sold Out of their incoming stock. When it's listed as Unavailable, you can't submit a Pre-Order at all for the item at that location. This is how it's worked for years. Last edited by Beast; 09-12-2011 at 05:03 AM. |

Most Dvd's were anamorphic as at the time of their release people still had regular 4.3 displays as well as widescreen ones,so the dvd player could alter the anamorphic output depending on which type of display it was connected to. In the old vhs days,if you bought a widescreen movie and had a widescreen display you would have to use your displays zoom control to display the correct ratio, this would reduce the quality a little, wheras no ajustment would be required for the same movie on a regular 4:3 set,but you would have much bigger black bars at the top and bottom of the picture. When Dvd first came out anamorphic was listed as "Enhanced for widescreen t.v's" on the back of most warner covers, which ment no display zooming for widescreen displays, because of this you also had to be able to set your Dvd player to switch the anamorphic stretch off as on a 4.3 the image would look stretched. |
