Less than 2 days away...

I'd like to apologize to a certain moderator with a samurai as their avatar. I may have offended them a week ago. I was making a badly-worded point about dubbed tracks for star wars and it got me banned. I'd just like to say I never meant any disrespect. Hope this message gets to you.

Anyways, about star wars blu ray. Four out of five ain't bad and it's good to hear the original trilogy actually has a better rating. I look forward to having a marathon next weekend. I got the amazon free shipping, but hopefully it arrives by then.

To stress over release date is crazy. I've thought about it and nearly decided to commit to buying the OT for $35, but I can't do it. I want the original color palette (don't care about flaws) instead like when Coppola restoration restored the Godfather films to their original look and not the sharpened darker 2002 dvd's look. And of course I want at least the dumbest of changes gone.

I live in Maine maybe i will get it tomorrow. But i doubt it.

I personally wouldn't put a tracking number up in public. Wouldn't it be possible for someone to use the tracking number to change the delivery address and steal your package?

Of course the midichlorians turn the Force scientific. No fewer than three times does TPM mention the count or concentration of midichlorians. Hell, there's a machine to measure midichlorian counts.

Measurement turns the ineffable into something physical and tangible.

Amazon ships from Whitestown, IN. They'll probably just upgrade you to overnight shipping. I'm from WI and they've done that on a few occasions with Friday releases.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. In fact, it goes very well with a theme introduced as far back as ANH. Remember, in the era of the Galactic Empire, the Jedi were virtually extinct. Many people --- including Han Solo and Admiral Motti --- thought that the Force was just a myth; mystical mumbo jumbo magicks that was more fantasy than reality. That's exactly how The Force was viewed during the OT.

The prequels, on the other hand, show us a different era for the Jedi. During the era of the Republic, people didn't question the Force. They accepted it as fact. There were training academies that actively pursued candidates based on their proficiency with The Force, and they even used machines to measure their potency with it. After all, this was a more "civilized" era.

The stark contrast in the way the Force is viewed during the respective eras of the OT and the PT works perfectly, IMHO. To me, this is similar to how some ancient civilizations were using sextants and star charts to study the cosmos, but later generations fell into dark ages and regressed to the point of once again viewing the stars as a mystical entity.

After learning that Darth is Luke's father, you go back and watch his history before finishing with Jedi.
Yup - that's my order. 451236. Assuming you're showing Star Wars to someone who hasn't seen it, I could only in good conscience go 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6. They learn Darth Vader's revelation, we flash back, we see the truth, we find out Luke has a sister named Leia, we see how Vader fell, then we come back to the OT storyline to see how everything wraps up, only we're more afraid for Luke now having seen how his daddy fell.

It never told you what it meant. In fact, Obi-wan openly questioned it and Qui-gon admitted he didn't know. Later, he conjectured that it meant Anakin was the Chosen One, but Yoda never bought it and the rest of the Council doubted it, too, at least until after the battle when the rest of the Council apparently overruled Yoda on the training of the boy.

We already knew there was a relationship to the Force and the bloodline (the infamous 'the Force is strong in my family') this just rephrased that it in a pseudo-scientific way.

It never explained if the midis in the cells caused being strong in the Force or if midis appeared in your cells after you were already strong in the Force. Little kid Anakin was clearly no match for Obi-wan, much less Qui-Gon or Yoda but he had more midis in his cells than Yoda.

Mine came in the mail today from DVDPlanet! Not a bad deal getting for $75 bucks and two days early! I am kind of pissed that Empire didn't get worked on, as the other films were. Also, the sound mix for A New Hope sound pretty much like the one from 2004. I thought it was restored to sound like its original mix.

A forewarning to folks who haven't had a shipment notice from amazon. It gets kind of muddled, I think, and I wouldn't count on it. I had my pre-order in for Lord of the Rings Extended from day one and release day came and was almost gone and still no shipping notice showed up, so I cancelled and went to Best Buy.

I'm about to mention Best Buy again, but I promise I'm not a shill. That t-shirt is actually kind of cool and has a sort of vintage feel to it. I might go there, although Target is around the corner if it's not all that cool. The appeal of going to Target and getting some Chewbacca Cheddar Cheese Pringles to go with my first viewing is almost too hilarious to pass up.
