2005 - The Story of Star Wars DVD (bundled w/ Episode III DVD @ Wal-Mart)


2005 - Star Wars: A Musical Journey DVD (sold as part of the Episode III OST package)


2006 - Star Wars Trilogy Limited Edition DVD tin (Best Buy exclusive, contains the three 2006 2-DVD LE releases w/ the untouched films)


2008 - Star Wars Prequel Trilogy DVD boxset (holds 3x 2-DVD thinpaks, same content as previous single-movie releases)

As for the 2011 BD boxset, I'll wait until the price hits ~ $50 or so. I've got plenty of patience for a price drop.

i jus brought SW BOX, so i'm chillin' gettn ready to watch it. (btw, its 7:45am, yes, i will hav it LOUD - I hate THE TROLLS NEXT DOOR) so i thought let me check the times against the dvd boxset against the blu boxset. the Blu set is MISSING 2 minutes from each movie, WTH!!!!

did they just take those 2 mins out and put it on a bonus disc, this sucks!! maybe its new stuff i haven't seen oh, well........

That's a great collection. I don't have any of the Japanese laserdiscs or the original Star Wars on Betamax but I've got pretty much every other home video release on VHS/LD/DVD going back to the '82 VHS.

That VHS set I showed a picture of was the best UOT set released in the US, in terms of extras. The '95 Faces Trilogy set didn't have any bonus features but had better PQ, in my opinion. The best overall VHS set was the Executor box set released only in the UK. It had all the Definitive Collection LD extras plus all four classic docs(MoSW, SPFX, CC, FSWTJ). Why they never released that here is beyond me.

I didn't bother with pre-ordering so I'm heading to Best Buy around 12 today. I'm sure they'll have some left but this is a high profile release. I know a lot of people did midnight releases.

I find it more interesting his reasoning for why the Unaltered versions will come to HD. It happened on DVD. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens on Blu. They just probably won't go the extra mile to clean up mattes and sabers. Maybe do something like not offering HD audio. Who knows?
