Don't really wanna see great quality and then also see great quality but not as great effects and just over quality, because I'm sure I-III looks better.
The prequels contain OT spoilers. Regardless of their internal chronology, the prequels were meant to follow the originals.

A New Hope is so immersive with the DTS HD MA track and MUCH improved picture quality that it STILL left me feeling the way I did when I first saw it as a kid. Sure, I will continue to watch my 2006 DVD laserdisc transfers, but I can't say the 2006 versions have ever roused up that childhood nostalgia. I sure am glad I decided to pick up this set.
Me too. I wasn't going to get it, but I bucked and I'm glad I did. It's an awesome set.

A nice set and I'll dive into episode 1 shortly, after I make myself an Old Fashioned first. Although the packaging is nice, exactly like the Alien Quadrilogy set sans the glossiness, I really prefer BD cases so thanks to the wonderful artists that supply custom covers.

When we watched TPM tonight, she kept asking where Luke Skywalker was hiding.
makes more sense now , lol.

It depends on how you look at it.

These are 8 year-old masters. They simply can't compare to masters made at 4, 6 or 8K.

Do they look good? Sure. Better than Star Wars has ever looked at home. But they could have looked so much better.

I know, I know, someone will complain that I've said that, but it's the truth. They look great, I'm satisfied with them, but I could have been stunned by them.

Obvious, between this and the lack of key special features, that this is but the first dip into Blu-ray we'll see for Star Wars. It's funny, I've been saying for a year next time 'round he will issue the original versions of the OT in some subsequent set (perhaps attached to the 3D versions) - and Bill Hunt said the same exact thing in his review.

The Star Wars train on home video is far from over, this is certainly not the 'be all/end all'.

Now, 34 years later - finally, finally(!) - we are able to watch this movie that was so important to us in our youth in high definition on quality A/V systems. What an incredible experience it was to see this, better than I can ever recall seeing it, at leisure in my own home! This was a good day. Fantastic!
Agree 100%

Just finished watching Empire Strikes Back.

Holy Crappola, that was one of the 5 best blu-ray audio tracks I've ever heard!!

I will watch AOTC tomorrow night but so far TPM has a pq rating of 2.5-3/5. DNR, washed out colors, blurry mid range shots, and EE on a 2011 release on a major catalog film is unacceptable.

I've read the rest of the series look far better. Boy I hope so.

I doubt he payed for the art. You can find lots of custom cover art all over the net and on this very forum. Just use some high quality, glossy paper for a nice finish.

The 6 disc case will knock you back about $5 http://www.pcx.com.au/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=1456

I really like what the artist did with the cover and couldn't wait for the actual movies to come out since I printed this cover months ago. The Vortex 6 disc case is about $3 but you need to buy more cases than just one. Bought them at Casetopia, a few friends got together and purchased various combination of multi-disc cases from them to get a better shipping price. I don't remember where I found the cover art, but you can download them from custom cover sites or maybe look through the custom covers thread here.

I think I purchased mine from Plastics USA or something. I put most of my DVD extras discs with the Blus if they were not ported over and I bought mine in bulk as well.

Ken, it's been a hell of a summer - enjoy your blu-rays, friend.

So, in my best Anakin impression, "What will happen to this thread now?"

I went to Target to buy some things and glanced over the blu-ray section to check out Star Wars and holyshht, every single package, Complete Saga and both separate Trilogy packages were spider-wrapped and the boxes looked like they were choked to death, the wires messed up every side of the boxes.
